I frequent this Home Depot often because I live right across the street. However, today September 21st, 2022 at about 1:40 pm, I had a customer service experience that I didnāt really appreciate. I went to what I and my mother thought was self check out, and was politely informed by one of the workers that I was checking out my things in regular check out, not self checkout. I was shocked, because in front of me were 3 female employees that were huddled together talking. I asked if this is regular check out, why isnāt there an associate standing by to check me out. She told me one of the ladies would assist. Then one of the ladies said weāre working over here. I then wandered over to the self check out, looked at some socks briefly. And then I noticed the self check out became available. So I started to check my things out. One of the associates who had been talking with the other 2 associates came and asked if we wanted help. I said no weāre at the self checkout. When we were standing there checking out at the regular checkout where this associate should have been working, she didnāt notice at all that we needed help. But now at the self check out, she decided to hover way too closely to my mother and I. I told her she doesnāt have to stand there. She said it was her job. Hereās what I didnāt have the time to explain to this woman. I know you have to watch everything and everyone in the store as a part of your job. But it is rude and embarrassing to stand so close behind a customer as theyāre using the self checkout. I didnāt see any Home Depot associate do that for any other customer when they were using the self checkout. Yet this associate decided to stand uncomfortably close to my mother and I, to the point that she was literally in the way. When I needed her I called her for assistance. She said thatās why she was standing close by. Because I may need her. Itās okay to stand at a safe distance and observe customers. But to stand right behind and then directly in front of customers, particularly in this age of Covidā¦is inappropriate. And itās disrespectful. What is the implication, since no other associate stood so close to any other customer during self check out while we were there observing the lines? She also took my card and put it in the payment device. I didnāt need her to do that. Her entire behavior was one of distrust, cloaked in āIām just doing my job.ā Home Depot, please re-educate your staff on how to inconspicuously observe customers, while observing appropriate social distance, please. Also, by all means. Please teach them not to stereotype customers based on their own prejudices or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter working long shifts from Thanksgiving day till Sunday my wife and I wanted to get into the spirit of the holidays. After work Sunday we decided to go to home Depot and get a tree and then have dinner to relax. This particular home Depot took that away with horrible customer service. First they were displaying an item that they don't even carry. A clerk and a service rep both confirmed that they didn't know why that was being displayed. Not a big deal we found something else that worked for us. We proceeded to the outside to look at trees. I was expecting bidenflation but wow were these trees expensive. Also every tree was fully wrapped up and tossed into side alcoves so you couldn't even check the tree to see what you were getting. We finally found a tree that wasn't wrapped and it seemed perfect so we asked the clerk if they cut bottoms and wrap the tree. BTW it was only 6:30pm on a Sunday. He told us "the guy that does it is on break and I can't reach him they're nothing I can do". He wanted no part of doing anything to help us. I just decided at that point to leave my full cart and go elsewhere. This is a billion dollar corporation with over 30,000 stores and you're telling me that on opening weekend of holiday season they only have ONE person available to cut and wrap trees? This is the nail in the coffin for me. I've been avoiding using home Depot for anything lately as all of their stores have declined in product availability and customer service. I will be a dedicated Lowes customer for all of my new home needs. At least Lowes still knows how to treat...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent in looking to purchase a brand new dewalt drill. Saw a big billboard in the store impact/drill combo retail & 229.99 for sale $149.99.
Look for assistance to unlock the shelf. He took the box to the front. This is where it gets interesting. The item rings up as $229.99 but after double checking the label does show the sale price. They just need to make price adjustments to their system to reflect the price. After looking at the box to notice it's been taped up for resale. Request a new one but also found the second box is taped up. The original staff that assist with the locked shelf opened the box to show us. I mentioned I don't want people to return the drill and swap the batteries out. He said he seen that happen before. So I request if he can do something about the price to sweeten the deal. He said he has a manager adjust the price to reflect $149.99 for us. It was originally selling for $229.99. So my words just echo thru.
Back to the register and waited until a manager show up to put in his code to authorize the actual price.
NOTE TO ALL. This location sells second hand items/ repackage/ returns for full price. Shouldn't the item be send back to manufacturer for credit and not to...
