1st visit - Father's day. The wait time was expected. Our food took a long time to come out. Waitress apologized, manager apologized and came to update on food status. Steak and eggs was disappointing. Asked for medium but it was overcooked. Gave dessert tokens to use on our next visit to compensate the wait time for the food which was nice. 2nd visit - No wait at all near dinner time. Food came out much faster since the restaurant was less crowded but still busy. Ordered biscuit benedict with sausage. Another disappointing choice. Hollandaise sauce is bland, no hint of lemon at all. I love a good benedict and this twist of using biscuits vs an english muffin doesn't work. You're just eating mush and with a heaping portion of home fries underneath, you're just adding more mush. The waiter was very nice and we were able to use the dessert tokens on this visit. 3rd visit - Arrived around 2pm on a Sunday. The hostess said the wait was about an hour. We stuck around and it was more like 20-30 mins. We killed the wait time by visiting the golf putting green outside by the patio that we have seen on our previous visits. Luckily, my girls and I were able to play. Usually there are a bunch of unattended children going wild in that area. Once again, the food took a LONG time to come out. However, we did order the biscuits and homemade jam as an appetizer since we've enjoyed this on our previous visits. You get two large biscuits so it's enough to hold us over. Management came around like before and apologized for the wait and said that the food would be coming out shortly. We get our food and and somehow I made a huge mistake ordering the biscuits benedict again. Facepalm. My daughter ordered an omelette and after a few bites she realized she got the wrong order. Told the waitress and my 7 yr old daughter is repeating what she ordered to her to confirm the error. A manager came by to apologize. She took the order away and said the correct omelette will come out shortly. She brought it out after awhile and apologized again. My wife ordered Eggs in the Garden and my eldest daughter ordered Shrimps and Chips ($29). They both ordered these meals before. Our waitress checked on us when we were done and asked if we wanted to order dessert. We declined. She did not even ask if I wanted a refill of coffee while we were eating. I am also surprised that she did not offer anything to my 7 yr old daughter for getting her order wrong and make her wait even longer. Appetizers: - Biscuits and Homemade Jam - Good. Fried Calamari - Ok, nothing special. Breakfast Bowl - Ok. Eggs In the Garden - Good (Wife ordered twice). Steak & Eggs - Bad, steak was overcooked. Biscuits Benedict - BAD, stay away. Omelette - Ok, nothing special. Shrimp & Chips - Ok. Expensive because you get jumbo shrimp. Drinks: Coffee - Ok, need to request for refills, wait staff does not offer. Lemonade - Bad, has weird fake sugary taste. Have not ordered any cocktails. Water for the table is served in a re-used Bulleit Bourbon bottle. Atmosphere: Nice. The decor of the restaurant is very modern/trendy. I suppose this is why there is a hype about this place. Service: Needs Improvement. Feels like the waitstaff are inattentive. I like to be checked on and offered a refill instead of looking around for your waiter/waitress and asking for one. There are servers that come around and bring your food or take away your dishes but they are all wearing the same uniform so it gets confusing. Avoid the actual brunch hours, otherwise you will wait awhile to be seated and then wait awhile again to get your food. Better off to go for an early dinner since brunch is served all day. For a family of four, our check has been about $100 each visit so far without cocktails. There is also a suggested 20% and higher tip on your on your bill but our last visit fell short of that. I doubt we are...
Read moreMy friend and I had high hopes for The Shed, but were very disappointed. The food was okay, the atmosphere was great, but the wait staff left much to be desired. If I could give a 0 for wait staff, I would. We had sat down, asked our waiter for recommendations, decided what to eat, placed our food and drink orders, and STILL we did not get any water until we asked for it. Although it was pretty packed, most of the restaurant was full of tables that had already had their food served. It took us an additional 10-15 minutes after placing our order to be able to get water, which I feel like should have been the first thing to arrive along with the menus. It took so long for us to get our water that our meal and drinks came out only a few minutes later.
We had ordered a French toast, a Shed Bowl, and chicken and waffles based off the recommendations of the reception staff at the front of the house. Surprisingly, the Shed Bowl was the best dish out of all 3. The honey vinegrette worked perfectly with the arugula and the rest of the ingredients in the salad. The chicken and waffles was also relatively good. My friend has a more sensitive palate so he couldn’t have the hot honey, but relatively liked the maple syrup with the chicken. The hot honey was an interesting rendition and I think it’d be worth a try. The French toast was extremely disappointing as it was dry. You need to douse the toast and let it absorb the maple syrup in order for the French toast to be moist enough to eat. The waiter that brought us the food only said that the syrup bottle was for if the hot honey was too spicy, we could use the syrup for the chicken and waffles. We didn’t know if the syrup bottle was meant to be with the French toast or not. Beyond that, even if you only lightly used the syrup, it still wouldn’t be enough to not need a drink to wash the toast down. We had been heavily looking forward to the French toast due to reviews, so we were heavily disappointed.
We had spoken to another waitress about our concerns as we hadn’t seen our waiter for the entirety of our dining since he brought us our drinks. He was busy wrapping utensils in towels instead of coming around to check the tables. He only asked us how our drinks were once and then disappeared for the rest of the time. (Our drinks came 2-3 minutes before our food did) The waiter came back after the waitress went looking for him and a manger came as well to offer us to remake the French toast to have or take home, but we didn’t want another dry toast, so we declined. They ended up giving us a $10 gift card to make up for the $17 French toast.
All in all, the salad was good enough that we were willing to consider coming back, but the experience was pretty horrendous and felt like we were dinning at a lower...
Read moreDecided to come here for brunch with my husband and son & we're so glad we did! Upon entering, we were greeted by the hostess and seated immediately. We preferred to sit outside because it was a nice day. Our waiter was John, and he was training another John. Both John's were EXCELLENT! They both were very friendly, fun, personable, and professional. The main Waiter John, answered all our questions and when I asked his preferences and recommendations, he explained everything in great detail. They both were so personable, which i love, and even interacted very patiently and friendly with my 5 year old.
The food, wow, amazing! We got the calamari to start, and the sauce it came with was the cherry on top! I ended up getting the breakfast bowl - which was veryyyyy delicious. Instead of poached eggs i asked for over medium and it was perfect (for me)! My husband got the steak and eggs which he said was very flavorful and tasty! My son got chicken tenders and French fries & the chickennnnn was legit chicken cutlets (i love that!!!) and it is my sons favorite. Not to mention the fries that came with it are delicious.
We got coffee - hot and iced - which both were good but no flavors yet for the iced coffee. John said he was going to bring it up to management as people frequently ask for flavors. There is a cute closed off putting area which my husband & son were stoked about! They had the best time putting while waiting for our food and after eating our brunch. At the end of the meal, our servers John & John gave my son a nice shed snap back & free ice cream token!!! What an amazing way to end our meal. We will definitely come back here & i just want to reinforce how amazing the John's were. We were constantly checked up on and other staff checked on us frequently as well. The place is very clean, bright, welcoming and just overall a great place to relax and have a good time while...
