ALDI — Local services in Town of Huntington

While shopping in this new store, I intended to consult my spouse about a potential meat purchase by texting a photo of a package of ground turkey. A store employee who was nearby informed me that photography was prohibited within the store. Upon being advised, I immediately and respectfully complied by putting away my phone. However, the employee then demanded that I leave the store, despite my willingness to adhere to store guidelines. The employee proceeded to escort me from the back of the store to the front entrance, creating an unnecessarily confrontational situation. Not only was I not allowed to continue shopping, but I was embarrassed by the fact that I was escorted out of the store like I was some kind of criminal. If I could give this store zero stars I would. I was in the store today and witnessed a store employee escort a nice man out of the store because he took a photo of an item. The employee came up to him and told him he wasn’t allowed to take photos and he respectfully apologized and said he didn’t know and would put his phone away. The employee then told him it was too late and since it already happened she had to escort the man out of the store. There were no signs up saying no photos so how would anyone know. This is a grocery store not a top secret FBI meeting. Because of the way they treated this man I would never go back. Not a great way to start out as a new grocery store in town. I’m giving this store 1 star too based on the experience I witnessed discussed above too. That employee should be severely reprimanded, embarrassing a customer like that who responded extremely respectfully. I have worked at TWO different Aldi stores myself and have not heard of a no photographs policy. Believe me if there were one it would be posted on the front of our doors. This is not a welcoming sign for a new store. They will be lucky if they customer does not consider a wrongful harassment complaint on them. I am home for Christmas and was excited to shop here.
