Would have rated higher if not for the disorganized and poor experience with getting a hibachi table. Our two little nieces fasted all day for Ramadan and my wife and I promised to take them to hibachi for the first time as a reward. We called ahead in the morning asking if we could reserve a spot at their hibachi for 7:15pm with plans to break our fast at 7:30pm. They said it would be no problem and we made sure to come on time at 7:10pm. However, when we arrived they said there was no hibachi table available and we needed to wait behind others until something opened. Initially they said 15 minutes wait and they would seat us after the people ahead, but 15 minutes later another man came and said it would be a much longer wait for the hibachi. Having fasted the entire day, with two very hungry children and needing to break fast at the correct time, we didn’t have a choice and needed to take a normal table and skip the hibachi. The kids were very disappointed and kept trying to look over at the hibachi side and we felt quite bad. I understand if they are busy, but it is very poor service to promise a reservation or a seat at a specific time and then not deliver on it. Beyond that food was average, asked medium but go well done. The kids were very let down. We didn’t even get an apology or explanation for why this mixup happened as the woman at the front was rude to deal with even though we called, and arrived on time.

Ah, Zaza, my friends, is a truly unique culinary experience. This establishment dances to its own tune, offering a delightful blend of hibachi mastery, a steadfast commitment to halal cuisine, and an inviting ambiance that beckons you in. Now, let's be clear, giving Zaza a perfect 5-star rating might be an impossible feat, for it excels in a multitude of areas but doesn't quite reach the pinnacle of perfection in any single one. However, if you're in search of an intimate, low-key spot in the heart of Long Island for a memorable date night, this is a place that deserves to be at the top of your list. Nestled inconspicuously in Commack, Zaza is a hidden gem worth the journey. Their dedication to quality and unique offerings make for a culinary adventure that's sure to leave a lasting impression. So, don't hesitate, my friends; pay them a visit and let them know just how much you savor the extraordinary flavors they craft with such care.

A halal hibachi place in New York. Best believe we will be back. Not only was it halal but it was great food for a great price. The steak was cooked exactly how we wanted it to be, and the drinks were all great (virgin drinks). The mango drink we had tasted like a mango shaved icy of sorts and we were just as impressed by the lemonades. This was over an hour of a drive and we loved every bit of it. The staff was very accommodating and the hibachi was an experience in itself. Glad to have taken the family here, it was a great experience and great food for a good price. If I were to suggest anything, I would say that cleaning should not take place of the hibachi grill while people are still eating on the table. But it was almost closing time and the staff was accommodating. I wish I had an opportunity to take more pictures as the place is absolutely beautiful.

My company tried this place out today. We went with a large group to celebrate a new employee hiring. Our experience at ZaZa was VERY Disappointing

COLD FOOD - there was 10 of us that ordered food. We ordered food off the lunch and dinner menu. The soup was not hot, and everybody that ordered food all agreed that some of it came out cold, or at was room temperature. It didn't taste too bad. Some of the sauce they use was salty.

SLOW POOR SERVICE - As if getting cold food wasn't bad enough, they staggered serving out everyone's dishes in some of the WORST timing I've ever experienced in a sit-down restaurant. Out of the 10 people only three people got their entree when the food first came out. The last person to receive their plate received it almost 25 minutes from when the first person received their food. There would have been absolutely no way for us to eat together so we all told everyone to start eating their food since it was already cold and only getting colder. The workers are hardly seen and didnt seem sorry or really didn't even care. Nothing was given in compensation. Everything we needed we had to ask for and no one checked up on us during the entire time we were served. We had to constantly call waiters over to our table, it made an already bad experience worse

POOR ATMOSPHERE - although it wasn't bad, this restaurant is in a prime location and the dining area has tall ceilings. But the space is hardly used, there is really no theme. There is poor lighting, and all tables and surfaces and floors seemed like they were a little greasy and dirty. It's seems there was no care taken in terms of cleanliness.

OVERPRICED!! - In comparison to other places, the prices for hibachi, sushi, etc are slightly higher than others. However the issue is the portions are tiny!! Thus there is very little value to what you pay for. And the food is far from fabulous. There are so many other establishments in the area that serve incredibly higher quality food with way better service and better atmosphere for a cheaper price!!

Suggestions: Try TAO, or The Japanese Meat Bar which are both very close to the location. And serve much much higher quality food for the same price and you get much bigger portions. With way better atmosphere and servers that actually care about you.

I will never visit this establishment again nor will I suggest it to anybody no one at my company will ever be...

We just finished eating at zaza. And I wish we went to nisen instead. My daughter ordered bubble tea and she did not like it. She said it was very sweet. Although she had it quite a few times before at zaza this time it didn’t taste right. We tried talking to the manager and he didn’t seem to want to hear it. He said every place makes it different and they would not take it back. I tried to explain that we have been here many times before and she always has it and has never complained. I ordered a cosmo with grey goose. They told me that it would be an upcharge. I said that is fine because I always have that when I come to zaza. Anyway , the cosmo tasted like water. I do not believe they put in grey goose and I was very disappointed at the drink. But after, how the manager was to my daughter, how could I even say anything about my drink. After we ordered caramel peanut pie. It came out as a glob and you couldn’t even see it because they had covered it in whipped cream. I assumed the whipped cream was to cover the fact that the glob was so small. How dare they charge 8 dollars for that. On the other hand, the fried ice cream we ordered was great. I felt like I blew 80 dollars and walked away very dissatisfied with our meal. I felt like they are scimping with the ingredients to make up for the money they lost during the pandemic. However, they don’t realize that customers can see that and it will affect their business more in the long run. I am 100% sure that we will never go back to zaza again. It’s a shame because we were regular customers. But this was the first time coming back after not being able to sit inside. What a waste of money . I have went to nisen recently and I was happy to say that things were the same as before the pandemic and might I even say they were better. That will be our go to sushi place from now on. Zaza lost a few valuable...

Me and my wife frequent this place the sushi is outstanding drinks pricey but very good the woman that works there is somewhat pushy and rudely disrespectful my thought is well this is just who she is l decided to stop in by myself for lunch l go sit down at the bar mind you there was a couple already at the bar sitting having drinks and food the woman immediately without asking me what l would like to drink asks me do l want to order food l said yes she tells me to get up and go sit in the bench by the front door l looked in disbelief. the woman walks away While l stay sitting at the bar. when she comes back l say l am at the bar because l would like to order some wine merlot, she brings the wine bottle and shoves it in my face and says is this the wine you want. l was shocked she did this, like l have a choice of merlot. so me not feeling welcomed Sitting at the bar, l take my drink and sit at the bench by the front door, and the woman says nothing. a young woman walks in and imedieatley the woman who works here directs her to the bar exactly where l was told to get up and the young woman sat down and was asked right away can l get you a drink and was handed a menu. while l was told to get up from the bar and walk over to the register to give my order, and sit at the front door bench. this takes the cake, l said no complaints, as l did not want to disturb anyone's lunch. l pay my money and l am always respectful. l expect to be treated fairly. the woman employee says put your wine glass at the bar when you're finished after my takeout order of sushi was packed and ready. then she looks at me and says l remember you and your wife always come and order a lot of food and drinks.so What is it she has to know you to give you friendly respectful service.l give you one star because the sushi is exellent however customer service...
