So, I had the pleasure of dining with a few of my girlfriends at Nisen Sushi last week. Since we went on a Wednesday - the place was practically empty - we had reservations for 6:30pm.
To be honest, I am not a big Sushi Fan but my family LOVES IT - so I know that these places also serve some good entrees and I went with an open mind - Boy was I pleasantly surprised !!
The staff was friendly - the ambiance was calm and serene - no heavy music, Thank God - all the ladies got a chance to catch-up beautifully!
Of course, the other's on the table ordered a TON of Sushi that they all shared and polished off within no time - the names of a few were such tongue twisters - got me wondering if we were sitting in a French Bistro !
I on the other hand asked my server to suggest between Salmon or the Sea Bass and he recommended I try the Miso Chilean Sea Bass - and I tell you it was absolutely DELICIOUS !!!!!(my mouth is watering just writing about it) It had the right sweetness as well as it was cooked to perfection - Crisp...yyyy!It came with white rice and sweet potato puree... that was wonderful tooo.
Now for the best part !! Most Asian places that we visit are not big on dessert varieties... this one surprised us !!
We all have a sweet tooth - so we ordered a few for the table Lady M Signature Mille Crepes Chocolate Crunch Edelweiss
Yahoo, the Chocolate dessert was my suggestion cause i am huge Chocolate fan - BUT The Number 1 spot went to "Edelweiss" - all of us were surprised - the thin layer of raspberry jelly at the very top left a memorable taste in my mouth - it was BEYOND Perfection!!
The Chocolate on the other hand was good but a little on the bitter side and the Crepes had very less sweet (now these are just my humble opinions - over all we did manage to finish off everything - that just proves that Life is Good... Thank You Lord!)
I am thinking of visiting this place soon with my family - I know they will love...
Read moreI used to enjoy coming here. And come here quite frequent for dinner.the last time I came on Thursday night a couple weeks ago. I asked one of the waiters if I could have a soup menu because I wanted Ramen soup.she went and said something to the receptionist and then the reception is comes to my table and says what do I want....I'm a little shocked because that's not how you talk to a customer by coming to the table and saying what do you want..... So I was a little shocked and I said excuse me... And she said again WHAT DO YOU WANT....me and my friend look at each other and I said to her I just wanted to see the soup menu.so I ate my soup and pretty much I didn't want to eat anything after that I was so upset with the way I was treated that I won't be going there for a very long time. I should have actually called the restaurant the day after and file a complaint.I even wanted the name of the receptionist but by the time me and my friend was leaving the restaurant she wasn't at the front desk anymore. There is no reason for anyone to be talked to like that.whether you're having a bad day or not it's your job as a waitress or receptionist to greet your customers with a smile. A fake it to you make it honey.. so now I take my business somewhere else like Kurofune Japanese Restaurant. Where the staff is extremely friendly and always have a smile on their face thank you Kurofune Japanese...
Read moreI went and placed my order to go. The receptionist at the font emphasized a few times how much my order would cost (because it was a specialty roll), I said no problem. So I stand at the front desk waiting for my food which took for ever... while waiting a lady walks in and screams at them about her order, the timing of her order placed by phone and the price etc etc.. i pay no mind, and finally after like 30 minutes my special spicy lobster roll with a side order of shumai was finally given to me.... when i get to the car it occured to me to check if everything was there since the bag was fairly tiny. Good thing i checked, because the order was wrong, instead of what i had asked for which according to the receptionist was an expencive roll, i got a tiny box with 4 pieces of some weird roll which was not the one i had requested... i went back inside the restaurant and at firts she tried to say that was what i ordered but then a diffrent receptionist intervene and told her that she saw when i pointed at the menu, at what i wanted, she apologized to me, they said a few things in their language to each other and told me to wait for a new order, since i had no time to wait i decided to get my money back and leave... btw still waiting for the refund to...
