I’ve been coming here for years (I would say the last 5-6 years now). It’s a real shame that they’ve become so greedy lately. It seems after the pandemic they keep raising prices. $3-$5 for dollar tree products. $10 for shirts you can find new for over half the price. $15-$20 for electronics that half the time don’t even work. It’s all about greed now. Not to mention the 3-4 people that stand in front of the back room doors waiting for things to come out and bombarding the carts as they come out on the floor taking what they think might be valuable. And the employees who come out to talk to them and hand them things that might look like something valuable. Honestly I think that’s highly unprofessional and somewhat unfair to other customers. I’m sure they’ve got some type of deal going on and give the employee a cut if they find something of value and give it to the customer. I used to come out of here with loads of stuff. Sadly it’s changed. I’m lucky if I find 1 or 2 things. And here’s a tip - not everyone shopping there is looking for things to flip online! There’s some people out there who are shopping there because they don’t have enough to shop in big box stores like Walmart or Target - so the fact that they’re charging double-triple-quadruple of what somethings actually worth it’s pretty disgusting. You get your merchandise for pennies on the LBS. and you’re charging eBay prices for things? EDIT 3/11/25: Well my trip to savers today was an absolute disappointment. I got nothing. The Kids books which used to be $1.29 no matter how big, small, paperback, hardcover are now being priced at different prices. (See photos) $4.99 for a used, beaten up, children’s book is absolutely ridiculous. Was also disappointed to see that they had an Arrow Scrap container on their lot now…what that means is they’re taking your donations of metal items/PCs (the scrap yard takes more then just that) and selling them to the scrap yard for a profit! 🤦🏼‍♂️ I’m pretty much done with savers at this point. They’re getting greedy and I don’t like it! Add to the fact that the store is swormed by resellers hogging up aisles and trying to get first dibs on the new items coming out from the back. And the employees actually encourage it! EDIT 4/30: The reason for the high prices are because Savers now has a processing facility that all donations go to. Donations will be priced at 40% of eBay prices - Or higher in some cases. They no longer price the donations at the store. They ship them off to the processing center where they are priced and sent out on trucks too all the savers on Long Island. That’s the reason for the inconsistency in pricing and why prices have gone up.

I used to enjoy coming here to check out their used book selection. Then they started going against their old tiered pricing plan, and changed to putting prices on the books. So a book you used to buy for $2.50 - $3.50, is now $7.99 at Savers. If you find the same book at a local Library book sale, it's going to be $2 - $3. Looking at the same book, used online, $3. Savers is no longer for savers with their new structure.

My daughter and I love to go and look for unusual items. I love the books and sometimes get some great albums. I think it's a little pricy, but I understand because they keep a great store and they are always helpful and nice. We never walk out empty handed. We always drop off a few bags for donations and get a discount. 🍀👗

Usually okay, very messy and disorganized but it is a thrift store afterall—I went in today and upon checkout, an employee abruptly stopped me, grabbed and started going through my bag, and told me ALL my items had the wrong tags. It was a small woman with a beige hijab, I'm wondering if she was a manager as she did not have a red vest on.

She was right for at least one object: a twin bed sheet. I hadn't looked closely at the tags (just happy it was affordable) but the plain bed sheet sticker did say "book" or something like this, when I tried to look. Before she finished snatching everything, I was able to grab two items to confirm the tags were accurate: a black top ($2.79, "Tees, Tanks, and Tops"), and a small portable steamer ($2.99, "Housewares, Appliances"). I tried to show her and asked if I could still purchase the items correctly tagged. She dismissed me immediately and insisted that EVERYTHING was "tagged wrong and needs to be repriced."

I then asked if I could leave my info at the store and purchase the items when they're ready (I had spent over an hour picking things out), but she just chose to speak over me, repeatedly saying "No, No, No," until I left.

Really degrading and disappointing. If the store puts products out with incorrect tags, it should be up to them to fix the situation. Also it would be nice to just treat customers with mutual respect and humanity. I understand it may not be the most rewarding work, but that woman's behaviour was...

Used to really enjoy coming here just to browse. 9 times out of 10 we usually end up not buying anything but enjoyed walking around and looking at items. I'm 6'8" so every once in a while we find items that actual fit me for a fraction of the original price. Today we came and at 7:40 a very angry woman stated that they were closing soon. We said ok, thank you and went back to shopping and as soon as we turned around she said again, excuse me, the store is closing. I know they store closes at 8pm and understand employees want to get out on time so my wife brought her item up to wait on line while I continued to browse. This angry woman again came up to be at 7:47pm and said the store is closing. I replied, I understand, my wife is already waiting on line so I'm just browsing while she waits to checkout. She continued on and said the lines are closing. I said I understand, she is on the line. She kept repeating herself to the point where I decided to just walk up to the line. So instead of standing in the next aisle I stood at the line to appease this rude employee. I gave 2 stars because I enjoyed this store in the past but to be honest the store was a mess. I would suggest the angry woman spend less time following around customers 20 minutes before the store closes and instead maybe clean the garbage off the floor, put price tags on items, and organize items into the appropriate sections. It would do more for...
