Summary: It was worth the groupon! Good scares and friendly staff!
Now onto the more detailed review: this haunted attraction location is based in a church. Yes creepy. Because it was a fundraising event, I didn't know what to expect. I honestly thought it would have been minimal decorations and people jumping at you etc. But they provided 4 different attractions that you receive a punch card for: a haunted church basement (sorry I don't remember the real name on the card), clown asylum, haunted woods and an escape room.
Clown asylum - you're given a prison mate number and 3D glasses. My astigmatism made navigating with the glasses a bit challenging and unable to really enjoy when wearing but once I lifted it, I saw the amazing hard work that went into the details of the haunted location. You are asked questions and really play a part into the attraction. Also this one you can ask to make them super scary if you want.
Escape room- this was the first I've ever done in my life so ofc we would not make it out alive lol. It's a room with aliens that have been experimented on. Your goal is to find the alien brain. The staff was trying to give us clues as we paced around looking for clues and what's next. It was a good experience for newbies.
Haunted woods- absolutely love this one! For many reasons, the decor was definitely top notch and the amount of work that must have been done to for each individualized scene. The actors were really in character and did a very great job and hiding and scaring. My favorite part was what looked like a river of green fog. It was incredibly done and 10/10 for the actor who hid underneath to have my friend bump into him.
The basement- this had so much decor and was fascinating to understand the different stories per character. The only critic was the one character that has a plunger truly had a putrid smell. It just seemed to have a totally differen story that came out of nowhere and his smell truly reminded me of NYC subways. The other factor was that at the end you are told to go to the electric box to flip the switch. I do want to apologize to that actor because I really thought it was a trick to shock the guests and refused to do so. This is also from experience with past haunted houses that do electrocute and spray you with water (which usually isn't told that it would happen to you).
This was a very well thought out attraction. In comparison to the ones I've done in the city, these actors were young but respectful. You will not be cursed at or told to shut up as part of the scare tactic. Good for 13 years and up. Good fun and I recommend...
Read moreWe had a disaster of a night and will never return. When you first pick up your tickets, the lady at the ticket booth is already defending the event saying "please remember this is just a charity so we can buy a parking lot and elevator for the disabled." First off, there were way too many large groups of children with no supervision. They were pushing us, screaming, knocking on doors and walls. Staff would just roll their eyes put a hand in the air and say so kindly, please stop. That did nothing, what a headache I have. Next, whoever was handling the entrances did a poor job. We waited about an hour for one attraction on the express line, that's not the point of express! We were only capable of doing the escape room (disaster, as we were forced to combine with a group, which caused lots of bumping around and no moving room) and two attractions. Third, way too many express passes were sold, those lines were longer than standby! We ended up throwing our tickets away as we couldn't stand one more minute of the chaos. There were only two to five scare actors in the houses that didn't even give any effort to try and scare you. There were so many peekaboo spots that could have had great jump scares but there were only...
Read moreThis place is terrible. My group of 5 payed $27 per person and it was garbage. The shack was literally just a basement split into 2 rooms with decorations and 3 actors. The clownkatraz was 3 rooms with nothing scary at all. The escape the room was 5 mins long and had so much assistance, it should have been 10 mins with no assistance. The dark colony had so many chances to add in more actors but most of it was empty. The only good thing was at the end of the dark colony. All the cars that were parked were the staff because no one goes there. The wait for each line was around 20 mins and the course was 3 mins each. It was a very low budget set and it is directed to kids that are 8. The website looks great but in reality it is a scam and the worst place to be. DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE GO TO BLOOD...
