I love the pool. Although sometimes... (*4-4-25 Update :) but I'm still so disappointed with LAF and men... The pool is closed for major repairs AGAIN -about two weeks ALREADY! NOW, last year it was closed for a month for major repairs after being closed for being broken for almost a month before that . This was supposed to fix the entire problem they broke concrete they waited two months . And other than once or twice it has been okay but it didn't get fixed because now it's been closed for almost 2 weeks and I bet it's closed for another month while they wait here is what they are giving as their excuse why they are still waiting ..." we are waiting for Corporal corporate approval of the repair ". Is there a question ? Will it NOT be approved ? What is determinant? APP AND NOTIFICATIONS ARE NOT USED TO tell us these things . New manager has done a good job pretty much but the men still cannot control themselves too get their aim correct off the basketball court . And it's not that difficult to every half hour or so that can be cleaned quickly and are dangerous and I don't want to touch what I'm doing my yoga or stretching on the bottom of my feet . I thought that was a good idea too maybe find something that you can disinfect with after you leave the bathroom in case I have to put my finger on my shoe ! YKKK! HEY , LI Ops, VP No Brainers and Excuse Generation, whomever. Approve the repair ,sign it then call URSWIM ("they " who are responsible for pool because " the company "isn't ) and tell them less than 1 year ago the pool was closed for almost 2 months, why isn't someone working on it already! HAVE LIFEGUARD AND INSTRUCTOR duties include pool, out shower, general pick up ,skimming and cleaning. Sitting w earbud in reading book or sleeping is not all they're is to job. Yep, books ,earbud, food, phone, video, or head unable to look at pool. The lifeguards . Is that "APPROVED ".k MAYBE a cleaner pool would work ! Maybe bandages ,et al, floating around broke your 6 month "fix". Please , cultured aquatic athletes need a place too. This Amphibious Aggressor needs his AquaRena. End update .
get a refund for that month because the only thing I use at the gym was not available to me. Now as far as the service people are very nice and very good. As I said the management was very bad but I hope that operations get better there's a new manager he seems to be on the ball although the cleanliness of the showers still while improved is not up to standards for a respectable club. I enjoy going here it's not too crowded people are nice although everyone is in their own world and never recognize this or says hello to anyone. So it is a mixed bag at this LA fitness and while the pool is broken I got to experience another one and that club was much bigger and better so bye I can't go there without spending $40 in cab fare, I guess I'm stuck with my two-star mediocre hopefully on the way up club. But for $40 a month what...
Read moreThis facility does not deserve star. There is no transparency and zero customer service. They lied to me and then insulted me. Telephone calls and left messages do not get returned. I guess the only way to get a response from them is to stop payments going through on my credit card, which will be my next step. I was pressured into joining and lied as I was joining. Every question and concern I had was answered with an "absolutely, of course you have nothing to worry about" . Things were going well for the first 5 weeks my PT training sessions were going smoothly. The first month went by, my card was charged I booked my sessions as usual and then suddenly I could not book sessions on line. The PT manager Daniel, told me "oh, it's just a glitch, don't worry, keep coming for your trainings. He also assured me it wouldn't interrupt my schedule as I had been in quite a routine. The next week I go in, I say the same thing. Again, I am told "don't worry about it, everything is fine, just keep coming in". Well the following week guess what? I could not schedule anymore trainings in advance. I go to speak with Daniel only to learn that he is no longer there. I was by told by other staff members that "yeah, he (Daniel) lied to a lot of people" !! That's it that was the response I got. My PT that I was working with told me to see the "new" PT manager, Brian. Well Brian has a major attitude and told me "he is stuck cleaning up Danny's mess" . Not my problem. Brian then insults me by saying to my face that " You have to be the dumbest person the planet if you think that a PT hour long session is only $55. Then he told me that there is a NY State only law limiting the amount of personal training sessions a person can have in a month. He also told me "there must be something wrong with you, most people only need to work out with a personal trainer for a half hour, not an hour... Seriously I was dumbfounded when I left. I cannot believe how I was spoken to and how no one seems to care. I should also mention, that one of the other lies I was told as I was being pressured to join by both the gym and PT manager was that the personal trainer I was working with was about to take his "senior" fitness test in 3 days. meaning that I if I joined then I will be grandfathered in and would not be paying the senior fitness training rate as that is more money. Annnnd you guessed it. The trainer I have been working with has not and is not scheduled for any such exam. He knew nothing of it.....I am so done...
Read moreDespite being what at first seems a newer and cleaner LA Fitness, the club lives up to its poor google and yelp ratings, with Andrew Johnson (a âDistrict Mangerâ who had no card, no badge and no ID) showing me last night, 7/3/18 at 10:30 pm, what I initially sensed: that this new location lacked the âheartâ to be a real gym. Mr. Johnson and an unprofessional staff member made me feel unwelcome by insisting that I needed to outside the club front doors at exactly 11pm closing time, whereas for most gyms and the other LA Fitnesses I go to, the âclosing timeâ was when the gym floor was cleared and members had a few minutes to get their belongings from the locker room and change. Mr. Johnson insisted that he didnât care what I was told and what was specifically clarified in writing in my renewal contract by the manager at the Smithtown LA Finess location when I prepaid memberships for myself my wife; namely that there was âten minutes after closing to gather belongs and change in the locker room.â Rather than working out before the holiday I was forced to explain and defend myself for the entire time I was there as Mr. Johnson threatened my membership over an issue he should have instead looked into given the inconsistency with club polices and enforcement over what happens at âclosing timeâ and given the written promises I was given when I renewed. For almost all retail services/stores a âclosing timeâ means no new people are allowed into the establishment, but those already in have the courtesy of a few minutes to wrap things up in order to leave. This is what happens at the Farmingdale and Smithtown locations. An interpretation, aâ la Mr Andrew, and aâ la one of his rude staff members, that everyone needs to actually, literally physically exit the club before the closing time, is not customer friendly and makes no sense. I left the gym floor last night at 10:50 pm and l exited the Huntington location at 10:55 pm. probably forever. I decided to return to the Farmingdale location, which is older and has much wear and tear, but has the soul and customer care to make it a real gym, where members are made to...
