Video Game Trading Post — Local services in Town of Islip

Find stuff a tad bit overpriced especially video game systems almost can get around 50 or $100 off. If you just buy off eBay I wouldn’t mind the pricing if the customer service was better. The customer service is very lackluster and it feels like a bunch of socially awkward people that don’t know what they’re doing or too, afraid to talk to people. As an avid retro gamer, I would love to go inside the store and feel the community of gaming but when I go in, it feels like it’s nothing but a bunch of people just wanting me to get in and get out not even interesting me in the games, not even having any facts about the games no customer service at all just straight. Was excited to check this place out since I heard alot of good things. Store was clean and got greeted when we walked in- which was nice. I'm not sure if they dont have the inventory but it was just shelves of huge amounts of old sports games and single titles on one side. The other side of the store had older games and had a decent selection but alot of what I was intrested in wasn't priced. Higher ended stuff was in the case with good prices to be honest. My reason for the score is that even though what I got may not be the clerks taste, I shouldnt have to get told my purchase was s*. I love retro gaming and shouldn't have to justify my tastes to him. We used to love going to the original location and then moved out to Suffolk and haven't visited any locations in a few years. I was a bit nervous about the bad reviews, but our experience was over the top amazing. The staff was kind and patient with all of my questions. Everything was organized and easy to find. The prices seemed fair and almost everything was clearly priced. We bought a system that is having a battery issue and they were kind over the phone explaining all of our options. Definitely recommend visiting them.
