Horrible experience today at this location! There seems to be no management here. Don’t even let me get started on the staff. After they sat us down, nobody wanted to acknowledge us. LIKE IT BOTHERED THEM THAT WE WERE THERE. Is not like we go there all the time or even made a fuss before. I have not been there since October, my daughter’s birthday. They were all busy laughing, hugging each other, walking around looking very bored, on their phones. CHECK YOUR CAMERAS! It was not busy, there were A LOT of empty tables. We had been sitting there for at least 20 minutes. My autistic niece was getting a bit inpatient so my sister had to get up and go get someone. SHE HAD TO GO GET SOMEONE. When they finally send someone, SHE CAME WITH AN ATTITUDE!. HER FACE EXPRESSION AND ATTITUDE SAID SHE DIDNT WANT TO BE THERE. DIDNT EVEN INTRODUCE HERSELF. LITERALLY JUST STOOD THERE AND LOOKED AT US. Not a “I’m sorry for the wait, NOTHING! I know ppl don’t owe me anything but manners, that’s something you learn at home. I had to ask her for name, it was painful. IDK, Maybe I’m spoiled, everywhere I go eat, the waiter or waitress always introduces themselves. Maybe Katherine was having a bad day, I get it, things happen SO I won’t blame it all on her. THIS IS MAINLY ON MANAGEMENT. I mean, THEY SHOULD REALLY GET ONE. DOESNT SEEM LIKE THIS LOCATION HAS A MANAGEMENT TEAM. I personally love going to IHOP in hauppauge, OFF MOTOR-PARKWAY, a little far from home but the management there is awesome. I tried telling my sisters that we should go there instead but they were all annoyed already and had been waiting a while so we decided to stay. BIG MISTAKE. The food took way too long to come out, not all of it came out and it was not right. My autistic niece and her mom had to walk out. They couldn’t get her BM chocolate chip pancake order right. My sister got frustrated and left. It felt like we were being punished for staying there. I thought maybe because it was 12 of us, too much to handle? Nope, an even bigger group came in and they didn’t have to get up and ask for someone and their food and drinks were out in no time. So I took it personal and decided to come here and maybe I get answers. At the location it didn’t seem to be any manager. I was very vocal about the poor treatment. Nobody came or seems to give a damn. My question for this location is, do you not like kids? Or do you not like autistic kids? What was it? Or did you hear that one of your staff members and one of my family members did not get along and you guys decided to treat the whole family in a poorly manner because of it?
I will definitely be reporting this treatment to the Better Business Bureau. Being treated poorly for having an autistic child or because your staff member doesn’t like one of your paying customers is unacceptable to me.
FYI: We are not mean people and our reviews are always good. We only tipped 15% of our $262 bill. My sister felt not everyone was at fault and they all shouldn’t be punished for the poor behavior and lack of management at this location. I’m never going back there and neither will my sisters. I hope they get some type of...
Read moreI went yesterday and the restaurant was empty, I arrived around 8:19 pm and as I saw the restaurant empty, I asked the girl who gave me the table why it was empty and she told me that we were closing in 10 minutes and I felt bad about that because it was the closest restaurant we found after visiting Robert Moses beach and they served us but the waiters were in a hurry with me, but my family was hungry and we ordered and for my order I specifically asked for huevos beneficos, el poblano because I loved the meat. After ordering and receiving our food I was telling a friend that I only visit Ihop anytime of the day for the charity eggs and when I tasted my food it was really spicy but I just ate it the thing is it was really really spicy so I told my server that my food had the poblano pepper in it and she took my plate and went to the kitchen and came back saying that it didn’t have any spice in it at all, the cook said and I told her again that it contained the hot pepper and she didn’t believe what I said she made some very mean facial expressions at me and she even kind of aptly asked if I wanted anything else and I said no please I wanted the same order just without the spice so if they could replace the hot pepper with green pepper and she came in and after a while she brought me a burnt bread over a dry meat and egg with no sauce saying that the cook didn’t put the sauce on it because it might be spicy too. I had just finished my order and decided I wouldn't tip because of her attitude. After a few minutes, she brought the check saying please pay now. So I told my friend okay, let's just pay and leave. I was there with my family. We were a family of 8 with 2 checks because my friend paid for his family's meal and so did I. So as we were leaving, she asked my friend if I left a tip. He sent my husband to ask, and I said no. After that, my friend was embarrassed, along with all my kids and family. She went to the door and asked, "So you don't tip with that attitude." I told her no, because of her service. When you want a tip, you treat the people you serve well. She was yelling things outside of Ihop. "I won't be going back to the area because that's a very bad experience that you don't want to remember with your family, ever. It was the worst experience of my life. The manager should review the cameras and do something because that woman can't treat...
Read moreUPDATE: the manager at the location did reach out to me and refund me back the bill. I did update the service to be 3 instead of 1 star. I may or may not go there again to give it another chance. At the end of the day, the food was not good still, but if I go another time around hopefully it’ll be better.
Our server was Jennifer and she had a bit of a nasty attitude to her. May not have been intentional, but her tone was off. She charged my friend for two grilled cheese sandwiches at over 14 bucks each and charged her the equivalent of a ham and fried egg sandwich because grilled cheese was not an option on the menu. At most, she should’ve been charged toast as a side and no reason she should have been given two full sandwiches. My spinach and mushroom omelette was mediocre. Some of the mushrooms were not even cooked. How do you screw up cooking mushrooms? The server completely forgot my side of hash browns. I wish I never mentioned it because these hash browns looked violated (picture attached). When life does not imitate art. She left this thing behind without hesitation on the table thinking it was fine. I had pieces of potato dangling on the edge of the plate like Spider-Man ready to risk it all. I have never went to one ihop that violated my hash brown the way they did. Every ihop I have ever went to has the hash brown rectangular and neat on the plate. I thought I had to interrogate this hash brown and ask, “who hurt you.” Looking like somebody sat on it and adjusted themselves 5 times before serving it to me. I did not take one bite of that mess. I laid it to rest with a napkin on top and hope that they buried it in the back with a ceremony. Should’ve played the trumpet for the hash browns. I am not coming back to this place again. The server also was very slow with getting back to us and checking on us. Definitely did not...
