Very disappointed by my experience at Music Arts Mamaroneck. I told them straight I will make a bad review online. I am doing it. And this is why.
Went there to buy the first guitar to my 9y old son. I asked the girl in the store for advise or feedback on products they are selling at Music Arts Mamaroneck and she was unable to provide any sort of advise or feedback on any product. When trying different speakers (same price), never had any word from the girl.
Basically I ended reviewing online while in store to figure out what I should buy!
I told the girl that she doesn’t seem to know anything about guitar and she said “yes, I am a piano person!”.
The worst part of this experience is not the fact that she didn’t know anything, this is that the owner/manager who was still there the first five minutes, without any form of interest, left the store without any word 15min before closure. He probably had better to do than advising clients...
I want to shop local and support our community, and I want to give a try to business owners, but in this case I would certainly have had a way way better help and experience on Amazon.
Oh, and finally I ended up by buying a guitar and a speaker because my son needs it for his music lessons, and when I asked for a guitar bag, this was on top of all I just bought. Enough for me.
Never again, and word of mouth...
Read moreI will never rent an instrument from this outfit again. I returned an instrument to the Mamaroneck shop in June. But then Music and Arts kept billing for the rental on a monthly basis. The shop said that they had no record of the return and that I should call the main office to resolve this. I called the main office in September and they suspended the rental charge. Today, the rental charge resumed. I called the main office and they said that I need to contact the store to resolve this. No one can tell me how I can get out of this contract! In frustration, I called my credit card company and had charges suspended. Maybe this will force someone with some authority to tell me how to resolve this hellish situation. But you should not rent your child's instrument from this place -- they are not...
Read moreThe in-store experience was fine, they were friendly and knowledgable. That was pre-COVID, however. For months, now, they have not answered the phone or responded to emails - we are unable to return the rental, or upgrade to a larger viola for our daughter. They simply won't respond. Their parent company located in Maryland also will not respond, we've sent multiple emails and have called multiple times. It seems they may be going out of business or already have stopped operating. I don't know how I'm supposed to return/upgrade. Terrible...
