Went there for the first time this weekend. I’m gluten free (not by choice) and I have to say their food was delicious and did not make me sick. The reason I’m deducting 2 stars is due to the service. The waitresses are all super nice and bubbly, however there is a lot of disorganization. Servers are not assigned to a section, therefore it’s all waiters check up on you at once or no one checks up on you at all. We placed our order and noticed that people who sat after us, got their food before us. A waitresses checked on us and offered to run back to the kitchen to let us know the status of our order and never came back. I watched her run out several meals to customers as well as cleaning up tables to then quickly scurry inside. By that point, my demeanor started to change as i was hangry. We debated just getting up and leaving. But not before I said something to the waitresses. Once I walked inside to ask what happened and why we were forgotten, the waitresses had told me she had been yelled at by her boss. (I’m not sure what that had to do with anything) but I informed her to please not offer to help a customer if she’s not going to complete the task she offered... which was to check on our food. Another waitress asked what I ordered and that’s when I informed her that she took my order and I would like to know what it was that she put into the system. I was assured my order would be out promptly as it was just coming off the panini press. Rest assured our order came out, but we agree that we were forgotten about as people who sat after us received their hot meals before us. Keep in mind what should be a 45 minute experience for a 2 person table, turned into an hour and a half. Food was good, I would definitely come back however I have to keep in mind I would have to budget double the time to be there.
Also, when someone pays you in cash, please don’t give them change in which they’re either forced to leave you a 40% tip or a less than 10% tip. We were so fed up by that point that we just left the $20 on a $50 bill. I don’t believe in tipping less than the 20% as I was a server for many years, and yes.. Most people do mainly survive off tips in the...
Read moreMy partner and I went for brunch and we were out of a large table with another patron, and I asked if it was possible for us to move to a different table and was told those are reserved for larger parties, even though I saw another party of two sitting at the same size table after we ordered, our drinks came out promptly and we were then asked to move to a different table because a large party was coming in and they need the table. My partner and I were happy to oblige and we moved the tables from my partners food came out. After about five minutes of waiting Who I assume was the manager came over and asked if I needed anything and I said yes I’m waiting on my food. She said I’ll go check on it and then never returned to the table to give me an update on where my food was. After about 10 minutes I lied on over to ask where my food was and she said I know I was just checking on it. It’s not out yet but I’ll go ask how long it will be and I said if it’s not ready, please just cancel it because at this point by the time the food comes my partner will be finished. She returns about five minutes later saying it’ll be two minutes so I said OK and I explained to her that this is not acceptable to have to wait almost 15 minutes in between dishes being served and she said she would speak to her manager who after about another 3 to 5 minutes, came over with my food and did not apologize or acknowledge the issue at all. Just dropped the food off. I ate some of my food and then we decided to pack up food and when I was trying to get a waitress, they were all ignoring me and avoiding eye contact until I was finally able to have my partner flag someone down. I was not looking for a decrease in my bill, but a simple apology would’ve sufficed or when they knew the food was gonna take longer to come out they should’ve came and told us it is clear this option and does not respect its customers, and although there are people with good experiences that come here, I personally would not take the risk of having such a terrible experience with the amount you pay. For two dishes and two drinks it was almost...
Read moreI went on a Sunday afternoon as rush our was ending, owner & waiter/ waitresses were very nice. I ordered the waffle i saw advertised with fruit & whip cream. The waffle was not cooked properly, it was split in the middle & doughy, not soaked through, i could barely pick it up with my fork, it would crumble. It was obvious to the serving staff & they offered to cook me another one properly, but i couldn't wait, the owner came over seeing the difficult time i was having trying to pick the crumbling waffle up with my fork, he offered to take back waffle, take off the fruit & put waffle in an oven to soak through, I thought that was a bad idea, so he offered to pay for my $2.00 coffee, instead of my $14.00 crumbled waffle, then he offered to make me a new waffle. I declined the offer & suggested he take off the waffle. Finally he did the right thing. But this after two servers came to my table (2×'s), him 2x's. The servers wanted to do the right thing but the owner kept refusing, u can imagine how embarassing this was for me. He saw the disaster, yet he acted like i was trying to get out of paying. Why would i come to a restaurant that i couldn't afford? but that was his attitude towards me (i could only imagine what this attitude was based on, hmmm). Anyway, finally, i got the right bill deleting the crumbled waffle & i turned around and paid the servers what would have been my normal bill. But i am baffled at the stupidity of the owner who cleary saw that what i was served was not a waffle, but crumbled pieces of one. So he losses a customer, that would have brought him even more business, i try to support small businesses, but look at the drama, he clearly saw the problem but would argue about $14.00, yet this would never happen at the diner...
