Positives: excellent location (although some highway noise). Friendly staff. Great views of the lake. Not so good: our room was down two flights of stairs, no elevator. OK, for these old arthritic bones if I'm only going up and down myself. It's not so okay when I have luggage! The room is really dated and needs a refresh. The cute extra decorative pillows on the bed? Ditch those. I just have to figure out where to put them. I'm not sleeping with them! The bed was a spring bed, and I heard the creaks of age. My hips started aching on the bed, causing me to get up multiple times, meaning not enough sleep. The breakfast is really pitiful and you have to take it back to your room. We hlmade waffles, the only hot thing they had, and they were ice cold when we got back yo the room. Would I stay here again? I would...if I have a parking lot level room, but not the lower level. Been coming here since it was built in the 80s (as an owner) and always enjoyed our time. The grounds are well maintained, lake is great, and the staff has always been great. But relatively recently new management took over and decided that they will only supply 3 rolls of toilet paper per room per week.
