Dan's Minocqua Fudge — Local services in Town of Minoqua

Needed to Share this review. I have been going to Dan's since the 1970's. Always enjoyed Dan's ice cream and fudge, but THIS year they opened a 2nd shop just south of Minocqua..... in Hazelhurst. The original shop closes @ 5:30 & the employees stand @ the door letting lingering customers stay, but tell the people outside (after 5:30) to go to the shop a few miles down hwy 51 because it's open a few extra hours later, every day. Either both Dan's STAY OPEN the same hours or NOT at all. There are other places in the area that sell Fudge and /or Ice-cream. And the prices aren't that expensive to be honest. Here are a couple other local places to go.... Kilwins (for ice cream, fudge, specialty treats) Kilwins is open til 7 or 8 pm and there is BRIQ's south of Minocqua and about 1/4 mile north of the NEW Dan's in Hazelhurst. BRIQ's offers a HUGE 1 pound ice cream cone in a Waffel cone for under $6!! They only have chocolate and vanilla but offer "sprinkles & flavor" options, and are open later in the day as well! Surprisingly KwikTrip also offers Fudge, that tastes just as good. I seldom leaves negative reviews, but this has to...

We went to Dan's Minocqua Fudge on Saturday May 1st and pleasantly surprised by the nostalgic blast from the past this store offers! When you enter the store there is a girl hand dipping homemade pretzels in chocolate and then rolling them in multicolored sprinkles. To the left we saw a man watching a huge mixing bowl stretch and pull homemade saltwater taffy. As you walk down the center of the store taffys and all sorts of candy are displayed in large baskets. On the left side of the store all sorts of homemade chocolate creations and fudges are in bakery size sheets waiting for you to choose the size you want. Then the back of the store has homemade ice cream for ice cream cones, ice cream bowls, sundaes, malts, and shakes. Finally, they offer fresh baked pizzas in many varieties. We tried chocolate ice cream, banana ice cream, and vanilla ice cream in bowls and then ordered 1lb of chocolate fudge to take home. How was it? Awesome! This is a must see and experience Fudge, candy, and ice cream store to experience the next time you visit...

We stopped here in the early afternoon. There were no lines and the shop was nicely organized and clean. We have stopped here frequently over the years and always have had good customer service and quality of goods.

This stop we felt rushed, pushed, and belittled. The customer service was lacking. There was a lack of communication between the employees helping us out. I felt bad for the employee checking us out because the assisting staff member left the customer communication abruptly and undone.

I am happy to change my review if I see an improvement in customer...
