GO TO MIDDLETOWN!! I have been a customer of America’s best since 2020, but only went to Middletown and had always had a great experience. Went to Newburgh this past time since it is closer to me only to heavily regret it. I wore my glasses in to my appointment they were completely fine. I was fitted for new contacts at my exam so was wearing those. My prescription didn’t change so I was going to keep my current glasses since they were in great condition. Before I left I asked the manager to refit my glasses to my face. During this process they heat up your frame in order to fit them better. Since I was wearing contacts already I couldn’t see out of the lenses, but they fit much better. I left with my glasses in a case. Later that night I removed my contacts and put on my frames only to see a huge blur in the middle of my lense. I can visibly see a clouded spot on my lense. Brought the glasses back in to the shop to explain the story. The manager who was the original one to do this refused to listen to my story saying she didn’t even remember me and insisted they were scratches which they are 100% not. I have had glasses for 20 years, and like I said my glasses were in mint condition prior to them being fit to my face by this location. They offered no customer service and my only option would have been to pay to replace the lenses that THE MANAGER...
Read moreI recently visited America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses and had an extremely disappointing experience, primarily due to the lack of competence and professionalism from the staff, specifically Eugene.
From the start, Eugene was unable to verify my insurance coverage correctly. Despite my insurance provider listing this location as "in-network," Eugene failed to confirm this before proceeding with my appointment. Instead of taking the time to double-check or clarify, he allowed me to complete my eye exam and contact exam, only to inform me afterward that my insurance wouldn’t cover the costs.
This left me with an unexpected bill (of 119 dollars) that I was not prepared for. What made the situation even worse was the complete lack of accountability or apology from Eugene or the staff. There was no effort to rectify the mistake or even acknowledge the inconvenience caused.
To add insult to injury, I later confirmed on my insurance provider’s app that this location is indeed in-network, which makes Eugene’s incompetence even more frustrating.
Overall, this was a highly unprofessional and stressful experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone, especially if you’re relying on insurance coverage. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere that values customer service...
Read moreI might have given this review a 5, but my last visit at this place was a way better experience. The ladies at the front area were great, my experience with the doctor not so much. Had just gotten off a 9 hour shift and drove an hour to this place, was told on the phone a week prior when I tried to schedule an appointment that for the vision test you could just walk in, but when I got in I was told the doctor wasn’t in and that I had to wait almost two hours for them to come in or come back a different day. As my schedule is too crazy and unpredictable I had no choice but to wait. So being tired and everything(plus a little nervous) I was having a hard time following the doctor’s instructions. She was pretty blunt and not very friendly the entire time and especially not very nice when she had to repeat herself. The overall demeanor of this person in my honest opinion was like they didn’t want to be there. But for people who get nervous in spaces like that I would recommend a friendlier attitude, that’s all I’m saying. Otherwise, I’m happy with the help everyone else gave me...
