I was hinted that I should leave the store. The staff are racists! Read until the end.
I came into the store, and I was excited to buy a birthday gift for my friend, as I really love your jewelry.
While I was deciding on what to choose, the salesperson asked me, "Did you just spray perfume on yourself?"
I replied that it wasn't just now, that it was a few hours ago. She said that the smell of my perfume was very strong and that she was allergic. (I don't think Ja Malone London - Wood Sage and Sea Salt is a particularly strong scent, but maybe she has the nose of a finnicky bloodhound, is what I thought). I apologized but mentioned that I applied the perfume not just now and continued to choose the jewelry. To which she replied, "Yeah, but it’s still very strong."
I lost all desire to buy anything there, apologized, and left.
Honestly, it was very unpleasant. I understand that she may have an allergy, but she works in a very well-known store located in a shopping center. And I'm sure I'm not the only one who uses perfume. Is she really hinting to everyone to leave because of her allergy?
Unfortunately, I didn't ask for her name. But I was in the store on July 28th, around 7:25-30 pm, and she was there alone. She looked a bit on the heavier side and in her 40s. Location Niagara Falls Outlet Mall.
And today, July 14th, I was at the mall at around 5:15-5:40 passing by this store, today I wanted to look at earrings for myself and thought that if there was another salesperson, I would go in. It was the same salesperson, and she saw me and literally closed the door in front of me (The doors were open, held by some kind of stand, which she removed as soon as she saw me). And there was still plenty of time before the mall closed. I was not close enough for her to smell any perfume from me, so I know that reason was just a cop-out. I have never experienced such treatment towards me before.
15 minutes later, I passed by the store again as I was about to leave the mall, and of course, the door was completely open.
In general, I no longer think the problem was with the perfume - I think the problem is that I am not white enough.
So don't save money by going to Swarovski, better spend more money in a good jewelry store, with higher prices but better staff who will treat you with friendliness and respect. My experience is not unique; I have seen many other reviews of various Swarovski locations complaining about how rude the staff are.
Personally, I will never set foot in a Swarovski...
Read moreI stop in often and am always greeted and offered assistance. I appreciate all the extra precautions that the staff is taking concerning covid regulations and standards. I was completely shocked and appalled to read a comment left by someone saying that they were offended that they were offered sanitizer when entering the store, every store offers and suggests that it be used, how is that offensive? The worst part of the comment was all of the rude and horrible names that she called the associate, who always goes above and beyond for her guests when I have been there. Dawn has been the store manager for many years and I don’t believe that she would continue to hold this position if she were rude and or condescending to her guests. Working with the public everyday and being exposed daily to covid is not a choice that some of us make it is our lively hood , so if we take some extra precautions to protect not only ourselves but our customers please understand that it comes from a good place. If you are offended that you must wear a mask or if someone suggests hand sanitizer when entering a store please feel free to shop on line. Keep up the good work...
Read moreDon't recommend this store at all. I have spent considerable amount of money at Swarovski and asked for a return and they refused me because I was 3 days late on their return policy. Spent a half hour on the phone with Swarovski trying to help them understand I'm an international buyer and what not, but it seems the company is useless in providing customer support or catering to a customer's needs if you will.
Background:
Requested return (within refund period) within my country but since I purchased in the USA I wasn't allowed a refund due to currency conversion. Fine.
Sent an email (within refund period) to Swarovski through their website asking on details on how to return the product as I'm an international buyer. No response, even till now.
Planned a trip according to my itinerary to get a refund from this store, refused. $351 gone down the drain.
Lesson to you, the reader:
Think twice before purchasing from Swarovski because they can't stand behind their product and offer the kind of customer service you'd expect from a company of this "caliber". Bunch of cheapskates. Keep the money, I won't be back and won't recommend the company to...
