ALDI — Local services in Town of North Hempstead

This is the place to stop if you need a couple of items but don't want to do serious shopping. Most recent experience I had a full cart of groceries, easily over 250 worth. Get to the register and I'm told its cash (Who carries almost 300 on them to go shopping?), have to use a self-checkout. I don't mind self-checkout when its a couple items and I'm in a hurry but the little tray isn't designed for holding a shopping cart worth of groceries. They had no budge on checking me out so I paid for my coke at the self-checkout and left the rest of the cart for them to deal with. They don't make it easy enough to do and I don't get paid well enough by them to do their job. The new location in Hempstead seems to have this same policy which means still driving to Valley Stream. If Aldi's continues this policy at all their locations the Lidle isn't that muck more expensive and is closer, which will force a switch. Seems kinda silly to have a policy that makes it harder for the people spending...

Update: 4/15/23 The new manager Josselyn is amazing! I used the self-checkout and the system charged me twice for grapes. She took care of it right away and was nice about it. The customers here are more friendlier and were exchanging their preferences for Aldi foods that they loved. My kids love the extra large cheese pizza that they carry and it's 1/5 of the cost of what you now pay in a pizzeria. They have so many other options, too ranging from vegan, vegetarian, keto, etc. You have to experience it for yourself to see what you like. I find that if you get there in the morning you can get what you need.

Aldi is a great place to shop for specific things. Half the time the staples are sold out. The staff is always overworked and the check out lines are always long. It is a shame that we have to rent the shopping carts, even if it is just a quarter. It is a hassle. It...

Aldi glen cove rd, Total train wreck today ..ordered curb pickup ...sat in the lot for 20min( had checked in and was the only one)..suddenly I got a notification from aldi/instacart .. order completed..went into the store there sat my order( none of the aldi employees were helping me and ignoring me, one called the store manager but the person never showed up) which I was not allowed to take but paid for.
