I had ordered the brown sugar matcha latte with cream foam hot. Order came out quick and I try it. The drink is nice and warm but it’s not as sweet as I was expecting it to be. I go to the associates working the counter and she says you have to stir the drink so that the sweetness goes throughout it. First off I’m confused because I don’t have an iced drink, I have a hot drink so aren’t you supposed to stir hot drinks so that they are mixed properly? But I said ok and they gave me a straw to stir the drink which I did and tasted it again to see if there was a difference. There was none and I let them know again once more. They said that the matcha drink is already not a naturally sweet drink, hence the taste which I knew of already since I actually prefer matcha beverages. So I asked if I could get some of their sugar on the side so that I can put it in myself and they said they can’t do that, the sugar is too thick for that. Again weird since they pour their sugar out of a squeeze bottle. At this point I asked for a refund, and they diverted saying if I wanted to have the drink replaced instead. I specifically went to Tiger sugar for the drink I ordered and didn’t want to have it replaced, so I requested a refund again. And at that point they said they don’t have the authority to give refunds so I said ok, thanks for the help anyways, threw my drink out and walked out. Tiger sugar on a good day, they have delicious drinks, but this wasn’t their good days for me and I won’t be going to them for a while, especially since there are other bubble tea shops popping up no...
Read moreFirst visit and was able to review the menu well. Confusing sign posted at the register advising “CASH ONLY,” but there were two different ordering stations that accepts tap to pay.
Ordered a tea and mochi. The mochi is commercially packaged and kept too cold in a freezer. Opening the package wrap, the strawberry mochi had clear signs of freezer burn and froze to the point it would not come out of the packaging. When I pointed this to the cashier, cashier gave me the options of “waiting for it to melt or try another one, but they’re most likely going to be the same.” Disappointed, I threw the mochi away.
When my order arrived, I received two bobas. I pointed out the mistake to the same cashier, whom said to keep it. The boba are freshly made, and the flavor is balanced. From the looks of behind the counter, this night the cafe looked overstaffed and it was causing more chaos with the orders rather than efficiency. Customer service is also lacking in attentiveness as it took some effort to get someone’s attention about both issues.
Overall this was as meh of an experience as the bb.q restaurant next door. It’s clear that their specialty is boba, but any side items like ice cream or taiyaki I would stay away. This is probably a place I’d go once and then return to Kung Fu Tea, unless quality control for the side...
Read moreThis was our first time here and the girls working were very helpful! My boyfriend and I cannot have dairy so they thankfully had dairy free options (soy milk and lactaid) so we were able to swap it easily. My only complaint is that the drinks aren’t really customizable. Some drinks allow you to use less sugar while others are standard. I think the menu would definitely benefit from some more options for each drink. Not everybody likes full sugar or full ice in their drinks so small adjustments would make a big difference. I would also recommend adding non dairy milks such as almond or oat milk since some people can’t have lactaid or soy. I guess that note is more for the manager but your team...
