Not only was the hem, completely uneven with one side being significantly longer than the other, but the gown was supposed to be floor length, is now (with the same heels that I wore to the original fitting), at my ankles. Please keep in mind that these are 3 inch heels worn on the original fitting day. The hem was twisted and bunched in several spots, and in several other spots, the fabric wasn’t even stitched under the stitches, and had been completely missed. My gown now has to be cut shorter than what it already is because the hem was so wildly uneven, which now means that I cannot wear anything other than a 1 inch heel or flats with a gown that I should be able to wear heels with and should be able to do so for future events. I am not sure how we went from floor length to above the ankles, that seems like a gross error on the seamstress. And that is just my dress, that does not include the other bridesmaids gown, which was also in the same shape with the hem, although for whatever reason, her skirt was floor length, and it does not include her straps which were tearing at the seams from where they were altered. There was chalk all over the outside of my hem because it had not been pressed. Neither of these scenarios include the brides gowns, which were so poorly done that she had to go elsewhere to have them repaired and done the way that she had specified, including an even hemline this time that included all of the layers of the gown, instead of just the top skirt, and a bustle that was done correctly, which at urban valet was not done. Quite frankly, with the level that our dresses, which were not cheap, were botched, I am shocked that at no point where we offered any type of refund, especially with the gown that had so much cut off of the skirt that it cannot be worn as intended and is still getting shortened as of now from one sode being longer than the other. To say that we are disappointed is an understatement, and we should not have to contemplate replacing gowns a week before a wedding because the seamstress botched the jobs so badly. We are truly waiting to see what is done to make this right, because the price of the alterations did not match the quality of work shown, or with what was recommended by a long time customer to have Urban Valet do our alterations. The images that are included are just some of parts of the hem, and do not show the incorrect length unfortunately, but the incorrect length was also admitted to be wrong by the seamstress herself who just kept declaring that she didn’t know how this...
Read moreI went to the location in Orchard Park to have a comforter cleaned and to see if an older coffee stain could be removed from a wool blanket. She was very friendly and was able to answer some other questions I had. The turn around time was quicker than I expected, about 5 days. The quality of the cleaning was great and my items smelled fresh but not an overpowering smell, just clean. They returned the comforter in a nice, secure zippered bag that I can use to store the comforter in to keep it fresh and clean when not in use. The best part, they were able to get the coffee stains out of my wool blanket. It would be difficult to replace the blanket and I was relieved they were able to get it out and make it look new again at a very reasonable price. You can also bring the hangers back to them for reuse and recycling. Their prices are reasonable but they do regularly offer discounts and provide coupons on occasion as well. I have been to the Buffalo Elmwood Ave location in the past also and had the same...
Read moreI highly recommend Urban Valet for dry cleaning and specialty laundry services. I've been a customer for four years and they've never let me down. The twice a week pickup and delivery from the house is super convenient and standard items (shirts, pants, suits) have always come back on the next scheduled delivery run, 3 or 4 days after pickup. The delivery team has always been very friendly and accommodating. The cleaning team has been outstanding with special instructions (starch levels for particular shirts, crease this type of pants but not others, etc.) and seems to keep track of them over time. We've gone with Urban Valet for leather cleaning, comforters, furniture covers, and some other specialty items and have always been happy with...
