Do not use ID Salon for bridal services. We booked months in advance explaining we do not need makeup done. My sister is a makeup artist and over and over we said we would be using her. We also explained we weren't sure how many people besides me, my daughter, and a friend needed hair services. They put down seven with a question mark. We had three. We were given a price list listing all of the bridal services including different hair and makeup services. Again, we said we didn't need makeup, just hair. Nicole understood and said she was listing them anyway. We were going during regular salon hours so no one was coming in special for our hair. This was basically a price list of services and a request for a deposit. My daughter booked her trial, and her trial was done by a different stylist than the one doing her hair the day of her wedding. That made no sense. We had to go back for a second trial with the person who would be doing her hair. At the time, I booked two appointments for myself. One for highlights and one for a haircut. Numerous times we double checked our hair appointments for 11:00AM for the morning of her wedding. Every time we were told we had two hair appointments, no makeup. I should also add that not only did we never have a makeup trial, but we never had a consultation or met with the make-up artist since we had no need for makeup applications. The morning of the wedding my daughter was taken when we arrived at 10:45. I was told my appointment was moved to 11:45 so that makeup could be done before a wash and blowout. I stressed we said no makeup, just hair but my appointment had been given away. The front desk called the makeup artist at 11:10 and she was still at home. She was allegedly doing makeup for me that I did not want at 11:00AM, and my daughter's at 12:30. Nothing made any sense. A stylist took me around 11:30 and blew out my hair. It wasn't exactly what I wanted but I did not have any choice. I called a few days later to see why everything was switched and Nicole came to the phone yelling at me saying I signed a contract and am lucky not to be charged for four other people and make up application. Again, we knew we would not have that many people and had no need for a makeup artist. Especially one who was extremely late and would be applying my makeup in 95 degree weather before my hair was done. No apologies from anyone, just yelling. I should have learned my lesson twelve years ago when we booked hair for my daughter's bat mitzvah. We had been using two specific stylists for years. We checked at every hair appointment that we had our appointments for the morning of her bat mitzvah. That morning, only Yvette showed up. Maria never came in. We had to have Yvette do both our hair in one appointment. Again, no explanation or apology. I took a break for many years, and stupidly gave them a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLooks like my mother already wrote a review, but I want to emphasize that I had the absolute worst experience with ID salon for bridal hair. I'll ignore the mess that was my trial(s) and focus on the wedding day itself, which was a disaster. My mom and I were supposed to both have 11am appointments and be at the venue at noon for photos. When we got there, ID said that they scheduled me for hair at 11 and makeup 11:45, and my mom for makeup 11 and hair 11:45. Huh? We were NEVER getting makeup through them. It was never once discussed. In fact, we had specifically told them from the beginning, which my stylist remembers, that we weren't interested in discussing it because we had our makeup artist settled before I was even engaged. They were extremely unapologetic. When my mom said she didn't want makeup, the lady at the desk sighed and said she had to call the makeup artist then because she was coming "ALL THE WAY from somewhere else on the island" and otherwise had no reason to come in. UMM, but if the makeup appt was supposed to be at 11, why wasn't she there at 11? She still had to drive across the island??? And how was my mom supposed to get her makeup done and then her hair washed, wouldn't it mess up the makeup?? Either way they were extremely rude. They said they still couldn't start her hair until 11:45 which would have made us very late for photos. No apology or attempt to find a solution, they just acted like this was all our fault. I was near tears until my stylist Ginger, who was great, figured something out so my mom could start like 11:25. After the chaos of the wedding, my mom called the salon a few days later to discuss it all, and they were even more rude. The lady proceeded to tell us makeup was in our contract (it absolutely was not, it was just a list of pricing for the bride and bridal party, who didn't even end up getting their hair done so clearly it was hardly a binding document) and that we're lucky they didn't force us to pay it. Screw that. Every other vendor had little blips but they were always so kind and apologetic about it. Who acts so rude to a bride and MOB on their wedding day? I'm blown away by the disorganization and disrespect. The rest of the day was flawless and every other vendor was patient, considerate, and helpful in every way. ID replied to my facebook review doubling down, talking about our "canceled appointment for makeup" and how we "changed our minds." We all know that isn't what happened. There are so many other salons on Long Island. I wish I had gone with any of them, and you should too. Don't risk...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStella Livoti is absolutely a talented, creative, and up-to-date of the latest trends and coloring. Whether you want natural coloring and styles to trendy vibrant colors with edgy looks. She can do it all. She is Professional and Personable as well as easy to speak to for all your hair needs. She is honest of what your hair can handle. I have been a client of hers for many years and walk out the salon with Healthy Shiny Hair and feeling that I am worth looking so great. She makes each of her clients feel special. I have had multiple shoulder surgeries which medications affect the health of my hair and she gets my hair so soft and healthy not just looking great. I highly recommend her because she Loves working with hair and her clients. She Loves guiding her clients to the best looks and even shows you styles and colors you'd never think you'd think of trying or looking good with. I have always been told by other stylist/colorist prior finding Stella the only color and hair length that would look good on me was blonde highlights and long hair. How wrong were they. I get stopped on the streets by stylists, colorist, and everyday people asking who does my hair cause the shine and depth of the color combinations and cut is so tastefully done. Even clients at the salon compliment me of my hair and afterward clients say they'd like to try the look on themselves. This past appointment last week Stella did my hair with violet and blue with sick deep pigments and shine. I have another shoulder surgery this coming Tuesday. I am so happy that even though I will be in a lot of post surgery pain I will be able to look at myself in the mirror and feel beautiful thanks to Stella and her talent. I highly recommend you trusting your locks to Stella and have the magical beauty to your hair. It makes you feel energized like opening your holiday or birthday presents when you were a little child. That GREAT JOY!!!
