The Learning Experience - Massapequa — Local services in Town of Oyster Bay

My daughter was enrolled in the infant room at 11 months and was enrolled for only a month (she missed a lot of days given being sick- first time in daycare). I really wanted to love this place but unfortunately I just didn’t feel at peace leaving her there for multiple reasons including:

1. My daughters second day at pick up, only her and one other child were left in the room, the teachers assistant was always the one who would be there afternoons, while I was packing her stuff the other baby boy was profusely crying, and the assistant in the room was ignoring the baby and helping me pack- I told her I could pack the stuff on my own for her to care for the child and her response was “ehh it’s fine he’s been like that all day” and didn’t even turn to look at the baby. While I understand infants can have their days and have fits I would expect for them to atleast try and comfort the baby and not blatantly ignore.

2. multiple occasions I picked my daughter up and she was dirty, whether her face was dirty when the app had reported she had had her yogurt over an hour ago, and the last straw for me was when I picked her up and her pink pants were literally black - I emailed the director and they did contact me within minutes and I expressed my concerns including not receiving any photos of my daughter in the day

3. I dropped off and picked up at all different times given my work flexibility, and never did I see them learning or doing any activity- the pamphlet claims they have a schedule of learning activities but I didn’t feel my daughter made any progress in her short time.

Pros: -After expressing the last concern above management communicated immediately - I admit that after then my daughter was not dirty at pick up anymore so they did improve atleast.

Overall I think your experience here really depends on which teachers/ classroom your children are in. The facility itself is nice, management is kind but my personal experience with my daughter was very much dictated my the assigned teacher...

I cannot express enough gratitude for Mr. Jahir and the incredible impact he has had on my child’s growth. His classroom is a place where kids feel encouraged, supported, and excited to learn. He sees potential in every student and goes above and beyond to bring out the best in them.

His dedication and passion for teaching are truly unmatched. He doesn’t just teach—he inspires. He makes sure every child feels included, valued, and capable of achieving anything they set their minds to. My child now shows so much more interest in learning and has gained confidence in his own abilities, all because of Mr. Jahir’s patience and encouragement.

I am beyond grateful for everything Mr. Jahir has done. He is an extraordinary teacher who truly changes lives, and I feel so lucky that my child had the opportunity to learn from him. Any student who has him as a teacher is...

The Learning Experience is indeed a centre of excellence. Firstly, the teaching and learning experience has met all the learning needs of my child. The institution has provided quality instruction aimed at the twenty-first-century learner and aimed to ensure that the students are introduced, at a young age, to STEM skills. The instructors have demonstrated a true passion and zeal for learning and are indeed stewards of the education system. The summer programs offered were diverse, enjoyable, and appropriate for the age level of the students. They also aimed to develop my child’s creative skills. Additionally, the school aims to foster a love for learning and hone exploration with the students.

Also, the institution has focused on developing key skills related to the hidden curriculum. The students are encouraged to be independent learners. In fact, the teachers have instilled many important values and principles in the students such as sharing. Miss Mallory has been nothing but excellent with my child; she has demonstrated patience, caring nature, and true love for my child. She exemplifies all the hallmarks of an ideal educator.

The physical ambience of the institution is great and specifically designed to excite students. I am most pleased with the cleanliness of the building and the availability of resources to ensure that students are comfortable and in a healthy environment. This not only ensures that the health and well-being of students are protected but that there are opportunities to learn in a stimulating environment.
