Visiting family, am a senior, and needed to cash $4.00 worth of dollars for quarters for laundry. Had just spent $550 there this week. Was told that Wegman's policy is that I could only get $3.00 worth of quarters. I begged them to cash another dollar. They refused, until there were 2 security men, and a manager, arguing with me for about 25 minutes, saying they couldn't break a policy, and cash another dollar. They told me Wegmans isn't a bank. I pointed out that it was 6 pm, and banks were closed. This isn't the community-oriented Wegmans it used to be. I'm done with Wegmans. It used to value customer service, but that was in the past. New administration? Overexpansion? On another day last week, I ordered a medium chicken sub. There was a very large man with a large, ill-fitting shirt on, who made it. His shirt went into the sub, as his shirt fell over the counter. He made another one, instead, and it was touch-and-go as to whether he would be able to keep it from being contaminated. This was time-consuming, and I had a child with me for whom I had ordered a medium turkey sub. There were no condiments or vegetables used on that turkey sub. I did ask for cheddar cheese. There was one slice of cheese put on, cut in half, that covered about a quarter to a third of the turkey. I requested another slice be put on, and was told I would have to pay an extra $1.50 for it, as that again is Wegman's "policy". I pointed out it was a medium roll with only turkey on it, and we had been there a long time, since he had to make first sandwich twice per his contamination. He and his colleagues insisted that the "policy" meant more than customer satisfaction. I threw the sandwich away, because it was unpalatable. Wegmans has changed. Only "policies", no customer...
Read moreBest grocery store I’ve ever been. Not only the grocery, many things. I’ve been to most of the wegmans in Rochester, but this is the vast one. They got more than 20 double aisles. Besides that they have: Deli counter Bakery Pizza Sushi bar Wings bar Asian food Soups Cold subs Salads The burger bar Beer cooler Not sure if I’ve missed any, you name it they have it. At the entrance you can find deli to the left. Wegmans having the best subs in Rochester. You can find several kinds of fruits, and some unique selection. Veggies are always fresh. They are water sprinklers above the veggie coolers to keep them fresh all the time. Most of the time we go for organic stuff, it’s bit expensive than regular but worth it. They have some handful selection of cakes, croissant, bagels, and many bakery items. Tres leeches cake is delicious. They have 6-8 different kinda of soup which are low price and delicious. They have various selection of wings, sushi, pizzas etc. Organic meat in here tastes great. This is the kind of place I want to go around though I went for a single particular item. Every item here seems fresh. They have wegmans burger bar, which is like a small restaurant making great burgers. Everything tastes delicious here.
Aisles are maintained clean. They have around 21 check out counters, and 12 self checkout. So, it never seems like we are waiting at checkout line. Every employee here is always responsive and polite. They assist us in every way possible. They got a vast parking lot which may fit more than 1000 cars. It’s difficult to find the nearest parking to the door. We can go on writing a lot about this place. Overall, it’s a...
Read moreAs far as Wegmans go it's fairly standard with some major issues. Firstly popular items are always out of stock day or night. Secondly you will always be waiting in a line. More than any other wegmans. Thirdly to walk to anything normal other than produce is about a mile and a half zig zag. Fourth is the amount of extra things they cram into the walk ways. This is dumb. It restricts foot traffic and makes gawkers rubber neck, which means anyone behind them is now stuck and can't move. Very annoying. Fifth, I've bought multiple cases of expensive craft beer just to find they are all shook up. This wastes beer when it explodes unexpectedly in my kitchen. Are you pure evil? Sixth is the customers. They suck the most. Very rude. Many speed above 30mph in the parking lot. They don't use the stop signs either making it super dangerous and difficult to cross. I'd rather go to East Ave Wegmans and get less options inside the store than get mowed down by some self important jerk. This is a serious issue at this wegmans. If you can I'd suggest going to Calkins Road. Much better stock and meat selection is also superior. They actually hire cashiers as well so you don't have to add 30 minutes...
