If you are black I don't think you are welcomed. The owner is a horrible person. Called the Cops on me when she questioned why I called another Fleer feet after I was told my exchange would be flagged. I guess a black woman not allowing herself to be questioned was out of line for the OWNER. Even though they brag about their return policy THEY gave me a hard time exchanging my shoes. And other reviews reflect the OWNER is the main culprit. The whole situation was disgusting.
Horrible. They are against customers of color. I was discriminated against and refused an exchange despite exchange policy when I questioned owner she called police. A customer interviewed outside when the cops came and explained the owner was discriminating against me if not I would have been arrested. I dealt with the OWNER PLEASE READ OTHER REVIEWS. SHE HAS A TRACK RECORD. SHE IS HORRIBLE SHE MOCKED ME AS I TOLD THE OFFICER I WAS SCARED DUE TO THE RACIAL ISSUE. PLEASE DO NOT SHOP THERE. very very overpriced.
10/9/24-her response is absolute false. The store that I called when she yelled at me also contacted feet corporate office. I have been advised by a lawyer and Will not be intimidated. I am a health care professional and never have any issues with police. My sister is a police officer. The officer who was hasty supervisor was contacted about the officers demeanor. Not both like she falsely claimed just one just one and he apologized after the customer told him the situation. She got mad because I called another store and told them they were giving me a hard time about a return and asked for the return policy. And she refused to give me a refund without a physical card and the other store asked to be put in speaker and asked that she give me a refund- because a physically acted was not needed. That's also on camera and recorded from the other store. She was alarmed because the owner was yelling. To clarify I make over $150,000 an yr and don't need to fuss about shoes. I purchased one pair of $175 shoes two weeks prior to this visit wore them once. Came to do another exchange didn't like those. The third exchange I felt bad about how they may be upset losing money when used shoes are exchanged but when I asked I was told after a few exchanges I'd be "flagged" i was confused as to why so I called the other store while the young lady was bringing the shoes I choose. As I was on the phone her comes the owner storming out the back " what's the problem we already said we would do the exchange!" and that's how it all started!! talked to me like a child and when I didn't respond to her like she wanted she called the cops and I also asked for them to be called . I'll write This review over and over again because she was horrible. Thank you. I felt because I was a minority and the only one in the store she took full advantage of that and when I didn't Allow her to question me she was nasty about it. I asked her to call the cops when she refused a refund. I called fleet feet union square when is was happening. I will not allow this so called owner to lie on what happened. If her side is correct why am I not arrested? why didn't I get a ticket or anything? Why did her customer go out his way to make sure he told how the owner was treating me. Please review the other comments maybe she gets irritated she loses money on returns and that caused he to lash out. This happened the way I said it did. Yes I was upset when the officers came but felt better when a minority officer showed up and actually listened and made sure to get my money and receipt. I have gotten 12 alerts from google today they are trying to get the review removed. That's why I came to write again. And will continue she was so nasty when she mocked me about racial insecurities I face daily. And I will not forgive. Nor forget. Yesterday after spending almost 3 hours shopping for a new pair of sneakers because what I do for work I am always on my feet. I have this separation in my back major knee issues and she helped me so much. Not only did I show up about 45 minutes before they close. She instantly greeted me the experience in the store is one of a kind you don't have stores like this anymore. Not only do they electronically with their technology measure your feet for the proper size. But they also have a pad that you walk on so that they can help you find a great pair of shoes. Honestly the first pair of new balance that I tried on they were amazing I just didn't like the color I'm not a person that wears cream or white because I get dirty at work. After trying on about maybe 7 pairs of shoes she found pretty much the same one she showed me first but in a color that I was going to love which is like a purple and a light purple together] urple is my favorite color. These ladies know what the meaning of customer service is if you haven't checked these guys out I would highly suggest doing it it is definitely one of the higher end shops that you would shop for running shoes and sneakers but the price is so worth the experience and the different quality of sneakers they have. They really truly take their time with each and every one of their customers that walk in the door on here I saw that somebody gave them a 1 star I don't even know how that's possible because I would give them 20 stars if I could. Really add an amazing experience thank you so much for your assistance and taking your time with me I appreciate you so much. Read moreI joined Fleet Feet Poughkeepsie’s 5K training group having never run before. I heard how fun and supportive the groups were, especially if you weren’t a runner and it was all true. I’m a bit shy, but everyone welcomed me, checked on me, and pushed me when I needed it. When I went through a rough time personally, so many offered their support and were so kind. I’m hoping Nicole and Michelle are mentors for the fall training group which I also intend to join.
The training group is such a good deal- not only do you get 2 hosted runs per week, there is also an in person strength training, an online strength training, various vendors let you try their sneakers, watches and other gear during runs AND you’ll get invited on informal runs so you stay motivated (and accountable). You’ll stay informed through a private Facebook group.
As for my shopping experience, I never felt pressured to buy anything, but I did purchase the things I needed. I didn’t really know what to get or what was best, but they explain everything and make recommendations which were really helpful. Sales team are all runners, very knowledgeable in all levels. Highly recommend! What a wonderful community of people!
