I lived here for one full lease term, a year and a half. My experience was positive.
• The proximity to Suffern Train Station, and well as the bus stops for Coach USA and Transport of Rockland (TOR), makes this residential town very commuter-friendly. • The walkability of living in downtown Suffern is nice. Not many options for a grocery store in downtown Suffern, but there are plenty of restaurants, convenient stores, local businesses, and parks within walking distance. • The amenities (gym and clubroom) were nice to have. You are able to reserve the entire club room for a day (for a fee) for things like gatherings, events, parties, etc. The gym is solid. • Maintenance was present and available when needed. • People were friendly, and I always felt safe. • By the end of my lease, receiving my deposit back was a breeze. Management fully communicated the amount I would receive back and they stayed true to their timeline. • There are monthly themed gatherings with the rest of the community. Very family friendly. Food and drinks.
It’s honestly hard to think of things I’d ask them to improve. I decided not to renew my lease because I’m looking for a city environment in the long-term, but that has nothing to do with The Sheldon. If you like Suffern/Rockland and can afford the rent, I’d recommend choosing The Sheldon over the other similar options in Suffern.
Thank you for making my experience in my first apartment a...
Read morePros: Awesome gym; super luxurious; close to train; good food nearby; scenic roads; clubhouse is cool; inexistent Hasidic population in town; I thought the train would be louder but it’s nice they aren’t honking their horn all night. The office ladies are nice people.
Cons: I pay $100 for parking pass a month and hardly ever use the lot because the street is always available. And the few times I went to use the lot it was full due to being close to all the restaurants in the area, that’s frustrating; elevator broke twice this month already; the AC in the apt is much louder then I want it to be; when the washing machine is on its “final spin” I seriously thought there was an earthquake.
Overall: I still gave it a 5, those cons are pretty petty to most people reading, but at least very factual. If you can afford the rent, it’s a cool...
Read moreFrom the day we toured the building and then signed our lease, the staff made everything so easy. We signed our lease online and then just moved in. They maintain the building beautifully. If you need any kind of maintenance, they are there the same day fixing whatever the problem is. They have functions for the whole building to attend in the Club House, which is always fun and a great way to meet the neighbors. We are in the heart of the town of Suffern and can walk everywhere and the train to the city is right across the street. We love it here and our friends visit often because they love the amenities. Would highly recommend this building to everyone. - From a verified resident on...
