I love Target, my favorite store. First time trying ordering online and pickup. I was a little disappointed with the experience, and felt there was a lack of effort on behalf of the employee, even though she was pleasant. I went to the store very early on a Sunday. Not busy at all at customer service. I had purchased an air fryer online. I first looked on the shelf in store to find the item I had purchased online, and I'm glad I did. The item was $10 cheaper on the shelf than the price I paid online! So I went to customer service and young lady pulled it. I told her the price was lower on the shelf. I asked if she could scan the one I ordered to see the lower price. She said she could not tell that way, and I was sent (why me?) back to the shelf and took pictures of the product and ticket. I then gave to her. She did something on the register and said it was adjusted. I asked to see something, and she said it was credited to my card. I told her, I don't want to go home and have to come back, I live far! It was eventually credited 2 days later, but it seems like this could have been done more efficiently. I like a receipt that shows the actual sale price, minus my gift card used for $10.00, and actual total. I only had receipt that showed the higher price I paid online. Maybe should have been re-rung? And why was the one on the shelf a lower price? Why order it online at all? I was under impression the online order was a “special”. 20 years of retail managing small stores, I thought for sure it would get screwed up, but I did finally...
Read moreThey have some great organic sheets and natural items that I can't get elsewhere and they're reasonably priced. The staff is sometimes pleasant and helpful and sometimes miserable to deal with. The 90-day return policies are a dream when things get busy and it's hard to find the time to return items. The bathrooms here are consistently some of the most disgusting I've ever seen in my life. When they first instituted their policy allowing people to choose the bathroom/changing room they identified with, I was all for it. But, in practice, it's become an unworkable situation. After hearing the news reports of what's happened at other locations (women/girls being harassed, spied on, etc.), the girls just don't feel safe in the women's bathroom and refuse to use the changing rooms in the store (which makes shopping for clothing virtually impossible). I didn't feel unsafe, but I did find it uncomfortable bumping into someone female coming out of the men's room the other day. I wish they'd find a solution that takes everyone into consideration — this certainly isn't it. Until then, unless we can find it online or just drop in and pick it up, we'll be going to stores that we feel more comfortable...
Read moreAbsolutely terrible experience – check your expiration dates! My Saturday trip to the Middletown Target was an absolute nightmare. It was incredibly difficult to find the baking items I needed, as the store felt disorganized and messy. To make matters worse, after finally gathering my items, I picked up a Lindt dark chocolate bar from the chocolate section. What a mistake that was. When I opened it after checkout, it looked odd and melty, and the taste was even worse – distinctly weird and off. To my shock and disgust, I checked the expiration date and discovered it was over six months expired! I went back to customer service for a refund, and the employee had the audacity to question why a piece was missing, despite my explanation of the expired, gross chocolate. While I eventually got my money back, there wasn't even a hint of an apology or courtesy for selling me expired food. Beyond the chocolate incident, the entire store felt unclean, and checkout was, as usual, a total nightmare. Seriously, do NOT buy groceries from this Target; you risk getting expired products. This store desperately needs better inventory management and a thorough cleaning. Save yourself the headache and...
