Typically, when I shop at JCPenny, I am satisfied with the quality of service, and the accommodations needed for me to accomplish my shopping excursion. Today, however, I was totally frustrated with the lack of accommodations, and the inability to conduct my shopping, due to the information I received about the wheelchairs being out of code. So, instead, of being able to pursue the store with ease, I was forced to walk around the store, in discomfort, until I had to conclude my shopping, because of back pain. I was advised that if I wished to use a wheelchair, I would have to obtain one from the information desk, within the mall concourse, and leave my license, and the wheel the chair back to JCPenny, do my shopping, wheel the chair back to the information desk, and then walk back through JCPenny, to get to my car. Are these the type of reasonable accommodations that comply with the ADA? Perhaps someone can suggest a more suitable means of returning an item which was purchased online, and avoid having to come into the store, and being subjected to these types of accessibility issues? In addition to having to stand in line, or going to another level to make a return, how can your paying customers be ensured that a trip to the store doesn’t result in reviews such as these, from disgruntled customers? The escalator was out of order,...
Read moreVery disappointed in my trip here. Merchandise very over priced. Sales are marked a percentage off, but.....there are do many conditions to get the discount. I'm an old shopper and I can figure a didcount. In this place it helps to be a math major. Then I went to the jewelry dept to get some birthday earrings. Even with the price of gold what it is, everything was grossly overpriced. Do they think.the public is stupid? We know the price of things. There was a very nice employee in jewelry. Said he didn't know about the sale, so he called a supervisor over. She seemed annoyed and walked away when I was still asking questions. I apologised to the employee for taking his time, but it was too rich for me. In other departments merchandise was not marked and no one was around. I can see why they are going out of business. As I was leavimg, the same supervisor asked me if I was finding everything. I told her it was overpriced, sales were not honest and some of the supervisors were rude. Coming from customer service, I have apologized many times, no matter what I personally felt. Her response was to laugh. BTW, I never did find the shoe department. PS....I have alway thought Macy's was too expensive. I went there later. Sales were clear and I got some great buys. Mr...
Read moreThere was a shirt I had seen on the website that I thought would be nice, and it was on sale, so I came in to try one on instead of just buying it online but was having a hard time finding it. I was pretty sure it wasn’t sold out because the website said there were a bunch left. There was an employee who was reshelving clothes nearby so I asked her, and she didn’t even try to help, even though we were in the same section that the shirts were in. She suggested I check the plus size section in the basement and then walked away, and generally acted like she was sentenced to community service and decided to work it off at JCPenney. Thanks, lady, I just lost weight and no longer have to shop in the plus size department, and your comment about what size I should be looking for is really upsetting. I found the shirt a couple of racks away, tried it on, and it looked great in a size medium, so.. anyway I don’t think I’ll bother coming back here and will just buy stuff online if I really want something from JCPenney but I don’t even want the...
