This was my first time at a Save-A-Lot. Unfortunately, it was the worst grocery store I've ever went into. Maybe I just caught them at a bad time? Or maybe it's just the location? Not sure, but I'm not hard to please. Decent prices, good food selection & convenience is all it takes to hook me. The store was really dank & dirty. The entire selection was slim. A lot of 'Fresh' fruit/veggies rotten & still on display, The carts were all stuck & jammed together (looked like 6 ppl put quarters in, struggled to get them apart & gave up, leaving their quarters.) The raw meat section smelled terrible. Some packs of chicken had a layer of freezer burnt ice on them, others were warm to the touch (hence, the smell.) Many of the prices were more expensive than some items at Kroger & Aldis...cat litter, laundry detergent, snack cakes, cereal, etc. Not all items...some brands I'd never heard of had good prices & tastes great. The parking lot is bad, not sure who would be in charge of deciding to fill the pot holes? I felt bad for the young kid I saw working there. He was the only one who even smiled with some customer service skill. I was so tempted to leave my cart & walk out. I've NEVER felt that way about any store Ive shopped in. The only thing that stopped me was thinking that poor boy would be the one stuck putting my few items away. I'll skip Save-A-Lot and go to Aldis next time. The only good thing about this shopping trip? The nice elderly man, a complete stranger, who attempted to help me get the carts free. Very disappointed...I've heard so many good things about this company, only...
Read moreAs usual the prices are great but there are no shopping carts. Literally you ask somebody in the store and they say yeah they're either all in the parking lot or they're in the store. But I literally walked the parking lot and there were no cards and they were only about four people in the store... I understand that people steal them but that was the point of adding a quarter rent system. I strongly suspect that they are understaffed and as a direct result of that there is no one to retrieve cards from the parking lot and now they're going missing rather than being inside of the store or alongside the store where they're less likely to be stolen outside of business hours. Use your profits Save-A-Lot and buy carts because people are not going to carry $150 with a groceries in their arms...
Read moreWhy and why they don’t give you a bag??????????? Are they trying to save money as much as possible??????? I came couple times bought some meat, they never gave me a plastic bag!!!!!! If you buy more than 4 items (big ones), then they might give you a plastic bag! Shame and shame!!!!!!! The reason I come to this place because it near my house! Manager should wake up and reconsider about the bags!!!!! I, we can’t just carry a package of meat walking to the car! It looks weird, not sanitary, not professional, looks like homeless person. Fix and fix the problem!!!! Tell the cashiers/ the ladies give the bags to the buyers no matter how big or how small the item they bought!!!!!! I wish I could give...
