Bluemercury — Local services in Tualatin

Not a great experience here. Made a purchase and was told it would be 20% off next week. I had planned to be out of town. When my travel plans were cancelled I called and asked if I could get an adjustment since I would be here for the promotion. Explained I had my receipt and unopened products. I’m a long time customer and explained what brand and what I was told about the promo. It was a significant savings or I would not have bothered. The employee said “of course”. Just bring it in and they would make a return and I could re purchase at the savings. Imagine my surprise when they told me in store that they do not do adjustments. I explained what I had learned on the phone so they agreed to return and repurchase. After a wait they shared with me that the brand I had purchased was on the exclusion list. What? When I made the purchase I was told it would be on sale and the brand was not excluded on the multiple emails I received about the promo. Aha….in the tiny print at the bottom it stated to go to the website for exclusions! The staff member told me to ask about exclusions next time I’m told there is a promo. Why is it the customers role to do the homework? I can buy this product in multiple places. I will stop buying from Bluemercury. What a waste of time due to the lack of education...

Wife wanted to stop in here and take a look and everything was very nice looking and sort of a change from the other high end make up kind of places. The items seemed more natural based and the entire store didn't smell like a bomb went off which I appreciated as a man.

My wife ended up buying some hemp based lotion thing and it smells very nice. Seems funny to put hemp on your body but it works. Obviously not a store for me personally but it seemed nice enough for the products they sell and I could see myself coming back to buy something nice or a gift...

I usually shop at Sephora but I love the brands bluemercury carries. Went in looking for a moisturizer I talked to Karen and she was amazing! I let her know I didn’t want to spend a crazy amount of money on a moisturizer but wanted something in the middle of the pack. She gave me some recommendations for my sensitive skin and landed on their in house brand m-61. It’s been working great for my eczema prone skin.
