Miniso — Local services in Tuckahoe

Store had a “we’re hiring” sign. Walked in shopped around, didn’t see anyone, there were probably 15 other shoppers, 30 mins later when we’re ready to check out we’re waiting forever. Finally decide to knock on the employees only door, nothing. No one. After waiting five more minutes of knocking and shouting out for someone, I finally decide to pull back the curtain bc there were three other customers waiting. I knock on every single door. FINALLY get a response a boy was loudly playing videos in the bathroom I said “there’s people waiting to checkout” “what?” He said, I repeat myself and ask “where are your employees?”, I open the door from the other side, no one is in sight. We decided to go next door putting the blame on whoever the store manager is for leaving this poor boy to be my himself (by the way illegal) and about five minutes later there is a long line and that same boy and a girl who came from who knows where are both there ringing people out. Was ready to blame their management for scheduling poorly but with two people being there, there is no excuse. It is extremely dangerous to leave a register and entire store unattended for THAT long. I work in retail, I get it, but If anything lock the doors for a few minutes then reopen for guests when you’re back. Girl I’m not one to do reviews like this but tell me why, me and my bf are ready to check out and there’s two registers, there’s two girls and they’re both standing by the register on the left. So as a normal human being we go to the register where the girls are standing at. She looks at me and my man and is like “UMMMMMMM” and we’re like “oh my bad?” Without a word said she moves to the next register and check us out as if we messed up in going to the register with people standing by it? My daughter loves this store and they do have some cute stuff that you can’t really find anywhere else. I did have a problem with a price that was kind of annoying and ended up putting the item back. It had a tag price on it for $12.99 which I didn’t see until checkout and I honestly didn’t look because the display box the item was sitting in had a price sticker on it that said $8.00, so that’s what I thought it was. The cashier just said oh that is probably an old price, it’s $12.99. So we just didn’t get it and put the item back. She appeared to be the only person working in the store so I just let it go.
