We called ahead and clarified that we were put on the waiting list when we arrived. The hostess told us we can have a drink at the bar while waiting on the table. After about an hour of waiting on a table and seeing the waiting area clear out, the hostess acknowledged she took me off the list when questioned. She then began to argue that I was not on the list because I requested to be taken off of the list per a conversation that I had with her, which could only have occurred during the time I was in the male restroom. I did not have any other conversation after I told her we will wait for our table while we have a drink at the bar. The table we sat at was directly behind her (10 feet away). She could have asked for clarification at any point if she was confused. It’s unfortunate that I had family from out of town that I brought to this establishment instead of anywhere else in Tucson but the quality of service was poor from the hostess. The waitress was nice. We paid our bill in full and she was tipped. We ended up having to sit at the bar when the hostess responded with “I can add you back to the list”.
Recommendation is to constantly follow up with the hostess. Our mistake was telling her twice that we are waiting on a table. It sometimes requires more repetition than telling someone twice. It’s unfortunate because this establishment could be better managed. This is purely a reflection of poor management and training. Staff, especially the ones that greet customers, shouldn’t lie or argue with customers. A simple “I’m sorry and will make sure you have the next table” would have solved all the problems. Instead it’s a lie and deflecting blame back onto the customer and then further disrespecting the customer by adding them back in line. Even if she was confused as to how to handle the situation, simply saying “I’m sorry but let me get my manager” can diffuse a situation. This all comes down to training. We weren’t looking for anything but the common respect that any customer deserves. Who we are is a reflection of how we were raised and how we are guided by the leaders that influence us.
The only thing I want from this is management to do their job and train the girl at the front. She deserves that as an employee. Given the business’s reply, I am satisfied if they follow through.

Read moreIt’s new I get there may be some rough patches. However, they had us go to the patio as our party arrived, we waited 20 mins after our reservation for the tables to be set up and you could tell they were struggling to organize them together. Once seated we waited at least another 20 mins before anyone came by to acknowledge us to get drinks ordered. A few of us ended up going to the bar to get a drink or even water bc we were just sitting there and it wasn’t busy. For a $55 dollar plate for 2-4 people, it came with 3 small taco tortillas and rice and beans for one which were not good. The rice tasted like rice a roni. We were a large party, I’m not sure what happened, but half of the table never got their orders. 2 hours later after we asked the waiter several times for an update, I think it was the manager that came out to explain what happened. The waiter on that side should have been more attentive to what was happening. Thankfully that side of the table got their orders free which was the correct thing to do. Sadly, the food is lacking flavor it doesn’t taste authentic at all, our drinks took forever to get refilled and the cocktails have way too much chunks of ice, we had to wait 5 mins after our food arrived to get silverware, but there was only a fork, no knife and by that time because we were on the patio the food was already cold. They definitely need more staff or at least to plan better for larger parties, need better communication between servers and more organization . If you’re going to spend the money, better off going to Guadalajara Grill. Maybe wait a few months until they roll out all of the kinks before you try. Sadly my moms bday dinner with family...
Read moreWhen entered on Mothers day they said they had a 30 plus minute wait so my mom and I sat at the bar. I noticed 11 tables empty plus the entire patio empty as well. We ordered 2 margaritas from a curly head RUDE bartender. I asked her about her attitude and she said, "it's been a day". The tall drinks, not margarita style glasses were filled to the rim with ice, as she made them she missed the glasses with the liquor, poor drink and we should have ordered just ice since 3 sips was all we got! We asked why we could not sit at the patio and all the sudden we could sit anywhere in the establishment. Why say there is a wait? We then sat outside and got our stale chips and flavorless salsa. I asked the waitress about the stale chips----- no sorry or let me get you fresh ones from her, I would do anything to make my guest happy. She said some are fresh and some stale. Who says that? I ordered another marg with less to no ice and it was delivered in a short glass and a serious disappointment. We had already ordered some food but after the stale chips comment and the drink that was just as awful as the first PLUS I asked why we were never delivered water, thats common when you sit down, right?
We cancelled our order and let her know that if the bartender cannot make a drink and is rude, you said a 30 minute wait and there was not one, you gave us stale chips with pace salsa and were very comfortable stating you always serve stale chips- AVOID
Awful service, drinks and "food". If chips are stale, the food cannot be any better!
I would avoid this place. Nothing about it is good service and the food and drinks were awfuL! First visit and knowing this place will not...
