So the first time I went to this store I was really happy with the products and the customer service. I went in there today to see if I could exchange a couple pairs or shorts that I bought last month because after only wearing each pair a couple times the buttons broke off. The salesman said he wasnāt sure if they could do that and went to ask his manager. He comes back and says that they canāt do that because I bought too small of a size and that I needed to go up a size. The one size I bought is a little smaller and I donāt need a belt when I wear them, the other ones are a size bigger and I use a belt when I wear them. The reason I bought both sizes is I donāt need to wear a belt with the smaller size when Iām playing golf and the shorts fit perfectly. The bigger ones I use when Iām wearing them casually and use a belt especially if I tuck my shirt in. He also told me the reason the button broke was because of the pressure my body weight puts on it, and the thread canāt handle that kind of pressure. Look I know Iām a bigger guy but I also donāt by clothes that are too small for me and obviously I know Iām bigger because Iām buying clothes from a big and tall store. So in the end they wouldnāt exchange them and also insulted me which normally I donāt care about that, but thatās not a professional thing to say to a customer. All I wanted was the shorts either fixed or exchanged, I didn't demand my money back nor was I rude to the staff. Bottom line Iām pretty disappointed by the customer service I received. I was made to feel like a disgusting slob and basically told in so many words I should be embarrassed, the gentleman used words like horrified when describing a supposed review that was left before of which I did not leave. I was also told that this gentlemanās boss Was āhorrifiedā By the condition my shorts were left in. I was basically forced into a return This go around. I was told that there was nothing else they could do to help me. I feel abandoned by the DXL family. A customer should never be told that a manager was āhorrifiedā by the condition of something or that the boss of the manager was āhorrifiedā by a review of which Iāve never left a review before but now I am. I left there embarrassed and essentially helpless. I feel completely ashamed and like the staff was beyond pretentious and higher than tho! I came into this DXL location looking for an outfit for my wedding that was taking place in 3 weeks. I know bad planning on my part. I'm sure other men that shop here can relate but I dread clothes shopping especially for more formal clothes and just had a lot of anxiety going into the store. Mark helped us upon entering the location and was amazing. He measured me and collected multiple different combinations of slacks, button ups and suit jackets to try on. I ended up finding an awesome outfit thanks to his great recommendations.
