I am shocked at the poor customer service I received tonight from the manager at this Lucky Wishbone. The manager ran my card-during which time a female coworker questioned if the card machine had begun working- indicating they had previous issues. He said it only approved for $10, and asked for the remaining $15 in cash, which I paid. When I got to my car I checked my account and he had charged my Visa twice.. once for the entire $25 meal and again for the partial $10. I went back in and explained what happened to the manager, showing him the bank charges on my phone. He immediately said it was a bank error, and not his fault or problem and there was nothing he could do. He said I had to return with my bank statement after the charges post fully in a couple days, and IF I can prove they take the money out twice I would get a refund then. He could clearly see the 2 charges pending from Lucky Wishbone, which took every bit of money I had for stocking stuffers for my young son as it is Dec 23rd. I tried explaining this to him, so he would understand why I needed the money from the 2nd charge back- even if only the cash I gave him- and his response was that he was not responsible because it was MY choice alone to stop and spend my $ on their food. I said I wanted to spend $25.. Not $50! I began getting a little louder and crying because he was in no was helpful, remorseful for the mistake or even empathetic about the mix up or the situation he had caused me and my young son on Christmas. He continued to blatently insist it was in no way his error- never once even apologizing, even though the other girl said the machine had been broken! I asked him to call the owner to see if anything could be done and he did- coming back to say he was told by the owner to take my name and number, and that I need to return with my bank records to get a refund, and IF I didn't leave immediately I would be arrested for tresspassing!! What?? I wasn't screaming or telling. Yes I was upset but mostly because he was being so flippant and rude about the situation he caused!! I was floored!! There was an amazingly kind man listening to this entire exchange who came up to me at that point and said he didn't want to see me or my young son lose out on the money Lucky Wishbone had taken and he gave me $20!!! The manager stood there offering nothing. A kind patron of Lucky Wishbone had to cover a mistake their manager made so my son could have a Xmas stocking because they refused to do anything about their managers mistake! I am grateful to the kind people of Tucson but hate that there are businesses like this that do nothing for quality customer service. This was the manager and owner. Even if I do get the remainder of the money I have overpaid, it will be several days as it is Xmas eve tomorrow. I am thoroughly disappointed in how I was treated today and certainly won't be supporting this local...
Read moreI have LOVED Lucky Wishbone for over 60 years. Nobody makes better fried gizzards!Try the steak fingers too! Tamara, at the counter was very cheerful and helpful.
I was born in Tucson. Lived my first 50 years within 150 miles. Living in Southern Oregon for the last decade. Sadly we have no Lucky Wishbone there. Every time we come home we, get our LW "fix"😉. This time Tamara helped us with a case of roughly 100 frozen gizzards we are taking back to Oregon. We had planned to keep them on dry ice for our 3 day trip. However we discovered a supply chain issue since COVID. Can't get any dry ice anywhere in the U.S....Well, we just had to pivot. Bought a 5 cubic deep freezer for these delicious treasures!
I wish I could leave this review as a 5 Star win. Sorry, I can't.
This location is very old. I'm happy to report that the front and the kitchen look very clean. The bathroom is a major disappointment. I don't suppose the locals care too much because they don't have to use it very often. Lucky them.. as a traveler, we do. I won't fault the employees. I think they work with what they have. The toilet and the sink, including the faucets are deplorable. I know that these can be replaced for less than $500. Why hasn't the Lucky Wishbone taken action? (This is not the only location with the same issue). As a lifelong fan of Lucky Wishbone it truly pains me. I want to be proud of this hometown gem. I hope they make a change soon! In the end, I won't let this stop me from enjoying LW. I know we all have room for...
Read moreI was very pleased with my visit here. Great food, great service.
It's your typical looking hole in the wall, possibly will give you food poisoning type of place. When I first saw it I was super sketched out by it, but I eventually decided to give it a try today because it was 1 PM and I hadn't eaten anything yet, and the smell of greasy food was rather appealing. Now it smelled super greasy, but not in a gross makes you want to puke way, it was soooo good. I ordered a burger because I didn't feel like fried chicken, or like being adventurous with their fried gizzards and liver. I got a combo that came with a fries and a drink. The fries were amazing, some of the best french fries I've ever had. The burger wasn't crazy or anything, but it was good, it's hard to mess up a burger IMO. If I had to compare it I'd say it was similar to a Five Guys burger, which again, pretty good burger. The staff were super friendly, and the service was fast. I will definitely be back here to try some of...
