Glowing review for the Best Puerto Rican Restaurant!

5/5 Stars

Wow, what a culinary masterpiece! I had the pleasure of dining at Batey Puerto Rican Gastronomy last night, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with impeccable attention to detail in every aspect of the decor.

But the real magic happened when the food arrived. Every dish was expertly crafted, with flavors that danced on my palate and left me craving more. The service was top-notch, with friendly and knowledgeable staff who went above and beyond to ensure our every need was met.

Standout dishes included the Arroz con gandules, arroz Maspoteado, chuleta, El Churrasco, Tostones ajilio, Pasteles, and Mofongo, which was cooked to perfection by Chef Carlos, and the Majarete, which was a sweet symphony of textures and tastes!

Overall, Batey Puerto Rican Gastronomy is a must-visit destination for any food lover. It's a true gem that shines brightly in the culinary world. Don't miss out on the opportunity to experience it...

As a Rican girl I was really excited when I found out about Batey. I initially met them in their food truck Boriken. I was looking forward to an authentic holiday meal that would remind me of home so I got the Cacique platter. Everything on it was almost spot on except for the pasteles, something about the flavor was slightly different from what I’m used to but still enjoyable. My husband and I split the food and got a side of mofongo (if you love garlic, this is for you). We finished with a sorbet dessert which I thought tasted too artificial and you’re served a very small amount for $7. Most, if not all desserts are overpriced in my opinion. You can get these sorbet desserts in the streets of the island for like $2 , they taste better and serve a bigger portion.

Overall it was a nice meal with a great atmosphere and service.

I would’ve taken pictures to share here but my excitement got the...

If you’re looking for an authentic Puerto Rican dining experience in Tucson, this restaurant is a must-visit! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a clean and well-maintained interior that makes you feel right at home. The service is top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who make sure you feel welcome throughout your meal.

The food is absolutely delicious, bursting with authentic Puerto Rican flavors that transport you straight to the island. From savory dishes like pasteles and arroz con gandules to perfectly seasoned meats, every bite is a true taste of Puerto Rican cuisine. The highlight for me were the pastries — mallorcas, flan and quesitos that are so true to their roots, it’s like you’re enjoying a piece of Puerto Rico itself.

Whether you’re a fan of Puerto Rican food or trying it for the first time, this place is highly recommended. A true...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Batey Puerto Rican Food, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I walked in, the vibrant atmosphere and warm hospitality made me feel right at home. The menu is a delightful showcase of authentic Puerto Rican cuisine. I tried the mofongo, and it was absolutely divine—perfectly seasoned and served with a rich garlic sauce that complemented the dish beautifully. The lechón was tender and flavorful, and the arroz con gandules was the perfect side, bursting with flavor. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. I also appreciated the cozy decor that added to the overall ambiance. If you're looking for a taste of Puerto Rico, Batey is a must-visit! I can't wait to return and try more dishes. Highly recommend!

I was visiting Tucson Arizona this past weekend and we found this excellent and savory Puertorican gastronomy restaurant. If you are in the area you must try. Starting From the warm and friendly welcoming, the decorations inside where you can see and feel a little bit of the island throughout the restaurant to the delicious and savory food. I will definitely go back again when I go back to Arizona. The churrasco is to lick your fingers, the arroz mampostea, the beef empanadas, the drinks (la mulata) I think it was called. It made out of grapefruit and vodka...yum! Thank you for the experience! Thank you for the chef and owner for being so nice to talk to us and share with us about his restaurant and vision. It definitely shows the passion and love of his work.
