I was super excited to try out a 5 star nail salon. And trust me: I wanted to give it 5 stars. I called the night before to confirm they were still open at 8 pm. When I explained I have ingrown toenails, Alan convinced me to come in at 11 am when they open the next morning because they have an expert in that. I asked for that person's name and he told me it was Tueg or Twiggy. I asked if he would have two nail techs available because I only had an hour for both the Mani and pedicure. He assured me he would. When I arrived at 11 am the next morning, I was warmly welcomed and directed to the chair for the pedicure. And that's when the backpedaling began. First, I was told the nail tech I was to have hadn't arrived yet. Eventually she arrived and started working on my toes. I greeted her by name (or at least the name of the person I was told would be working on my toes). Neither she nor Alan corrected me at the time. Then he told me I would have to wait longer because the person who was supposed to do my manicure hadn't arrived yet either. I reminded him that I had booked 2 manicures last night and cancelled one when I arrived because my sister couldn't make it. He squirmed and agreed. Eventually a second nail tech arrived and worked on my hands. His name is Henry and I really enjoyed his service (hence the 1 star). Then the woman working on my toes started to dig in the sides for my ingrowns and caused so much pain. Alan say by (working on the person next to me) and watched as this nail tech who clearly did not know what she was doing and causing me untold amounts of pain just kept digging. Thankfully at some point he stopped her and I was told to wait for their "magician." The nail tech continued with my pedicure and gave a horrible massage and I left the salon with a film from the mask still on my leg! Never have I ever had such a horrible pedicure! Eventually Twiggy finished with her private client (I was later told that was the reason she wasn't available for me but this was only at the end with no apology or explanation or opportunity to make a different choice since I was led to believe the woman working on my feet was the promised nail tech). And even though I told them in advance I only had an hour, I kept being led on that their "magician" would be with me shortly--at least a 20 minute wait. Twiggy was expert indeed! No pain and ingrown nails removed. If only I hadn't been lied to and made to suffer at the incompetent hands of the first nail tech. I'm writing this review because I hope Alan reads this and understands the impacts of misleading new customers with false promises and not being upfront. I was 30 minutes late for my nephew's 5th birthday party and still needed to clean up my legs with the leftover mask. Overall, a highly disappointing experience especially after paying for their most...
Read moreI came in excited for a deluxe pedicure with my best friend. We were chatting and really enjoyed how long we got to soak our feet before the service actually started, it was a nice, relaxing touch. The experience was great… until the callus removal.
While my friend and I were mid-conversation, my nail tech suddenly interrupted to show me the callus tool and inform me how “gross” my feet were. Sure, they were a little more calloused than usual, but definitely not gross… and definitely not something that should be said to a customer. 🙄
We tried to shake it off and continued talking, but then her tech started in too, making comments about how short her nails were and how “gross” her feet looked because of it. Not exactly the pampering experience we had in mind.
From there, it was mostly fine. I asked for a round nail shape and ended up with square, but that’s a small thing I could have overlooked. What really got me was checkout. We waited five minutes before anyone even came to the front. When I showed the woman a coupon texted from their system, she took my phone… not just looked at it, took it… and then walked away with it, out of sight, to show it to every other staff member. She had my phone for multiple minutes. Seriously not okay.
The worst part? When I got home, I had to peel gel polish off the skin around my toes. Gel isn’t regular polish, if applied incorrectly, it can cause skin irritation or even contact dermatitis. If you’re not trained to use gel properly, you shouldn’t be offering it as a service.
I’m giving them two stars because the atmosphere was nice, they offered us drinks, and the pedicure chairs were actually really comfortable. But the experience overall left a bad taste...
Read moreNEVER COME HERE, THEY WILL ROB YOU! I came to this salon with my little sister. She was going to get her nails done for her birthday and I decided to get my toes done as well. When it came time to pay the cashier asked me if I was tipping on cash or card before even telling me my total. I asked her what the total was and she seemed hesitant to tell me, finally she told me my total was $150 for a kids manicure and pedicure and an adult pedicure. She took my payment. I was waiting on my receipt and when she gave it to me she was adamant about me signing without looking at what I was charged for. She told me to “just sign” about 3 times, I told her to wait cause I wanted to read my receipt. When I read it, I was charged for 2 nail tips and an extra child’s pedicure which was $50 dollars more than I should’ve initially been charged. When I confronted the girl at the front she told me I wasn’t overcharged and that I was wrong, when the ITEMIZED RECEIPT said otherwise. Finally she called her supervisor and he told her to give me cash back, I only got $30 back and when I was counting it to make sure I didn’t get scammed again, she said with a very NASTY tone “is it good”. I left and I will never be back, and if YOU don’t want to get scammed, you shouldn’t go either! And if you decide to make the horrible decision of going check your receipt...
