This review is more related to the hygienic practices of the employees, not the food. I didn’t feel it was fair to provide less than a four star rating considering that I do not eat here that much, however I could not help but notice the employees behind the counter drinking their water, and rubbing their faces, yet not washing their hands afterwards. As a warning, I told one of the employees that if the health department sees them doing this, they could get a warning. I made attempts to speak to the manager, who evidently speaks Mandarin and very little English, but I do not believe that this person was there ( which is why I continued to have the conversation with one of the employees.) Sure, you’re allowed to have water and you’re allowed to rub your face and your head but you need to be going to wash your hands after you do this especially if you are handling peoples food. Unfortunately, I have my suspicions that my complaint may fall on deaf ears and it’s even more concerning that nobody in management has addressed any of the complaints on this website. However, if I do eat here again and I continue to see the same behaviors then it is a possibility that I will contact the health department myself and maybe they need to do an inspection? I cannot say with 100% certainty everything that the health department does and does not do but I used to be a food service manager and we couldn’t have water sitting above the ice maker because it is considered food. It had to be kept in the break room, but here I witnessed their drinking bottles right up front where the food is. The hygienic practices of this restaurant is a little bit concerning to me because if you’re doing this, then what does it look like in the back or what are your other practices? To me, these things are questionable, but I only know what...
Read moreToday we had lunch at Sakura at the Park Place Mall for my son's birthday. We typically love their food. I hate that we have had issues with the girls at the front multiple times. Once in a while they might add veggies when we say no veggies and they have scraped them out and handed it back. They have argued even when I wasn't being rude, they have given eye rolls. There are other malls with Sakura that will see my family. Today felt like they could have tampered with the food that I or my family wouldn't touch.
Edit: I guess the owner went back on their thoughts.... They had a replied wanting to discuss the issue right after, but in between then and now they had deleted their comment. I still had the email notifying me of their comment. I wasn't expecting free food or anything of the sort. As somebody who has always worked in customer service, I can't stand people who are rude just because they said that there was something wrong with their order. Mistakes happen. I wasn't even upset about the mistake. The attitude that I received is...
Read moreVery good Teriyaki chicken and veggies.
While in the Park Place Mall, browsing a few stores on our days off, my husband and I decided to stop at the food court and get some lunch.
We have had Sarku, in the past, while shopping at Park Place Mall but it had also been a while since we have eaten their Teriyaki Chicken. We were both hungry and it sounded good so headed to the line at Sarku.
"Two Orders of the teriyaki chicken and veggies with white rice, please. Double meat" I would always recommend the double meat for the courses you order. Make sure, if you like it to have them add a little more of the sauce when they have plated your meal. Oh yeah, grab a little Siracha to give it some heat....my husband, being Latin, loves the heat so he grabs a couple. We always get two bottled waters to quench the thirst.
When shopping at Park Place Mall, and you need or want a quick but filling lunch, give Sarku a try.
