Cons: -awful paint smell in the beginning (more on that below), even after 9 months it comes back sometimes -cigarette smoke in the outdoor spaces half the time -clothes ripped by the laundry machines (see photo for example) -No microwave -Heater smells like urine, had to buy a space heater instead -hubcap was stolen from my car while parked here. I noticed that several cars parked nearby had theirs missing as well.
When I first moved in, the paint smell was so strong I got a headache after the 1st night. Called the front office and Miranda said to open a window, which I did all night for a month (I couldn’t even stand to live there for the 1st week). Whenever I closed the windows, the paint smell would come back…so I spent a couple hundred dollars on an air purifier. Even now, after 9 months, the paint smell is still strong enough to give my wife headaches.
Complained to management again now that my wife is living here all day. After a week, Tony said she would send the maintenance man to check…but he never came. I guess her residents' well-being is not worth the half-minute walk to our apartment??
PROS (why I give 2 stars rather than 1): -Quiet -All the neighbors I’ve met are friendly and decent -Nice-looking grounds, shaded by big trees
Bottom line: Be prepared to spend several hundred bucks on appliances like an air purifier, microwave, and space heater. Healthwise, expect significant contact with paint chemicals and...
Read moreI lived here when it was Pantano Park & have since left. Altogether I've been there 12.5 years. There have been many changes since the new owners took over. I'll list some & you can decide: 1.Most grassy areas replaced with rocks Quarterly newsletters [previously residents got a newsletter monthly] No decorating contests No resident Christmas party in 2015-no resident Christmas party in 2016 but staff had to have theirs No surveys [previously residents were surveyed once a year] Many apartments are vacant [some it looks like have been empty for many months] Residents are being told they’re valued but not shown Some outside companies were not told about changes that effects them Office sometimes opens late & closes early [outside of posted hours] Office shuts for convince of staff [closed for meetings off property, company Christmas party ,Black Friday (Saturday after, office closed early for emergency) Very little activities were held for residents [one pool party] No resident Christmas party planned for 2016 Most communications [notices] were posted on office door but notice telling resident about maintenance staff & asking people to be patient was put on every door Under the previous owners, residents got a chance each month for prizes when paying rent early. This new company doesn't let public know about avaiability {10+...
Read moreI personally don't live here but my grandmother has been living at these apartments for years now. She always loved, they always helped her. Although, recently the past couple of months have become an issue. Recently she was also in the hospital for almost two months. Her daughter (my mom) went down the office multiple times to pay her rent and the office people were ether rude or not helpful. My mom tried everything in the books to pay her rent and she got no help from the office people. Then again this month she tried paying for her rent again and still was having issues. Tried talking to the office people and once again was not helpful. Then the lady in the office said, if you don't pay her rent, she's going to be evicted within the next five days. While my mom for past month and a half was trying to pay her rent. So instead of helping us she was being more inconvenient and turn around tell us she's going to be evicted. My grandmother has never been late and always payed on time every single month for several years. It's heartbreaking seeing my grandmother go from being in the hospital for two months to come home and find out she's being evicted. She used to talk so highly of this place and the people that...
