I am not big on writing reviews but I feel this one is extremely necessary especially for those purchasing the 5 year warranty. First, I was extremely happy with the couch set I chose and loved how I had many fabrics to choose from! This was fun and exciting. I purchased a beautiful throw rug for my new living room 0ver $400 for their smallest one which lasted one year! I also chose a painting that looked remarkable in their catalog but when I received it I thought it looked cheap for how much it was. I felt pressured into purchasing a round side table and lamp that I could have found something similar somewhere else. I kept telling my sales lady how I am a single mother and need to be wise on what makes since to spend the higher amount of money. For me I thought it made since purchasing a good quality couch from them because I was also a full time Veteran student who is 100% disable. I thought well this couch should last a long time if I also do my part to take care of it. When I purchase this couch my child was about 50 pounds just a little guy. I noticed that where the couch connected to the fabric on the inside was coming apart. I then looked at my other couch and noticed the same thing. During this time my mother was visiting for holidays and I watched her little male dogs urinate on my couches. This was upsetting and I turned to my extra warranty that I purchased and felt relieved because both my issues was on it and it stated it would be fixed etc. The next day I called and talk to the representative what had happened and she told me because my couches are dark Grey they are not going to do anything!!!! Apparently it’s hard to see urin on dark couches. I said what about my other issue with the fabric and she was like we are not covering it! I feel I was basically robbed of my additional $$ I paid for that warranty. I later went into the store a year or so after just looking for a table and told the female sales staff or manager who said she would look into it and of course nothing. Sometimes I think a review a couple years later means more than one that was created right after the purchase because now you can get a feel for how my entire experience was. I have loved all my products I purchased with the exception of the painting and extremely disappointed with how fast my rug threaded apart and my couch threading apart at the corners. Now, it is time for me to look into a new couch I’ve managed to have this one for 5 maybe 6 years. I saw a beautiful couch the other day at a friends home and I was asking her where she got it! I wanted to buy one and she said Lazy Boy, I was so disappointed because I can’t go back there for how neglectful I was treaded. So please be cautious. Or in my case it could have been the store employees that did not fight on my behalf. I feel something could have happened. I will show pictures. Good luck on your furniture search. These pictures are a little worse now from when I called in the first time but it was still about 2-3 inches Frayed apart after the first year or so definitely still within my 5 year...
Read moreI purchased the chair on February 10, 2020 for my Dad's 70th Birthday from a local San Diego, CA county La-Z-Boy store. Just received it yesterday July 15, 2020. It took five months when we were originally told 6-8wks for the custom order.
Of course, Coronavirus caused a shutdown about 5.5wks in. Then my Mom died (Cancer) on March 3. On March 30, a couple days after Dad decided to move to Arizona to live with his sister, I contacted La-Z-Boy to let them know of the new address, the move scheduled for May 1 and was told initially they could make arrangements to ship the chair to the new location and would get back to me when the chair was ready. On May 18, I was finally told that even though the chair was complete and heading to California warehouse, they had no way to redirect it to Arizona. I ended up having to cancel that original order and place a new order with a Tucson store over the phone.
I spoke to Nancy at the Broadway Tucson store. She was very kind, helpful, and honored the great sale price I had on the initial order. Unfortunately, EVEN THOUGH OUR CHAIR WAS COMPLETE, setting there in California, they had to custom order another chair with a new 8-10wk waiting period. Had they been clear with me six weeks ago, we could be nearly through the new waiting period.
Nancy was great, including regular biweekly email updates on progress, and making sure the delivery went off without a hitch. Dad got his new chair yesterday, and LOVES it. It's an amazing, SUPER comfortable chair with all the bells and whistles. If the transaction had started with Tucson, this would be FIVE STAR PERFECT review. I'm docking a two stars. One for La-Z-Boy's old school, inflexible logistics chain that can't redirect merchandise between store locations and two for the six weeks wasted because of...
Read moreThis is your source for quality furniture to last 10x the life span of something you might acquire from what could loosely be called a competitor store. i.e. Levitz or Ashley. The difference in quality is immediately felt when sitting on a sofa or chair made by La-Z-Boy. Should your bottom and back not tell you how much better it is constructed; lift the front of any La-Z-Boy sofa and the weight of solid wood construction compared to the plastic and particle board used by other retailers is shockingly evident. Jill was a great asset to have in our corner bringing her expertise as a skilled interior decorator able to conscientiously recommend opportunities that work best for our home's layout. There is truth behind the statement "you get what you pay for" when it comes to furniture. Most recently I've paid $2300 for 6 leather theater seats from an online retailer. It's been less than two years and two have gone to the dump, two more have peeling leather and the last two are breaking down showing how I did not get what I paid for. Prior, I spent 1800 on a sectional from SL and ended up donating it to Habitat because the cushions were breaking down; that was less than two years. I can't wait to get our new reclining sofa and matching recliner from La-Z-Boy in about 6 weeks; we paid 3600 this go 'round. It is the most comfortable sofa with full power controls for legs and back I've had the pleasure of sitting on AND it has a 5 year warranty that actually covers the furniture if it breaks down... unheard-of! Thank you Jill and thank you La-Z-Boy. Go see her at the Broadway location in Tucson or shop online and give her a call to have whatever you want shipped to your door! Tell her I...
