Last week (Mother's Day, actually... May 12, 2024), I went here to specifically buy 2 pairs of earrings. I quickly picked out what I wanted & patiently waited (15-20 minutes) for someone to get the earrings for me. There seemed to be 2 young women working that day & was told they were short handed. I did not mind waiting. After awhile, I was told by one employee that "probably no one (was) going to come over" to the jewelry counter. I was told it would continue to be a VERY LONG WAIT... & probably no one was going to wait on me??? Security guard was there by the counter. I was very nice & polite the whole time. I did get a little assertive though because I saw there was only one customer at a cash register & the parking lot was only about half as full as usual. And I really wanted the damn earrings. It's the only thing I came to buy. It was about 4PM. Store was not super full of customers at that time. I made sure to take notice.
I simply said "Really? I already have the earrings picked out. It will only take a minute. Please?" The one young female employee checked with the other one & after a minute, the other youngish female employee came over without a word as she approached me. Stone faced & silent, she stood in front of me. I very kindly said what I wanted. All this took less than a minute. She continued to look angry & was completely silent the whole time she waited on me. Apparently, I inconvenienced her SO MUCH by simply wanting to buy earrings.
Maybe they were counting cash & didn't want to be interrupted. I don't know. But if the jewelry section was going to be shut down, everyone should have been informed of this as they walked in the door. Pretty sure it's not okay to treat polite customers this way. Rude, horrible customer service. Not returning. And I was a regular customer. Screen customer service associates better?? I have no idea if either lady was a manager. So inappropriate.
Bye bye 👋, Savers. I won't be treated so disrespectfully as a customer. Plenty of other thrift stores in the city. The owner condones this kind of customer service??? I could not have been warmer or sweeter (nor more patient). I didn't deserve that & I won't tolerate this bad behavior from people who are supposed to be nice & helpful. Without the customers, there is no store & no...
Read moreUsually I like this store. But today I asked an employee a very simple question. Where are your coats? He asked me what a coat was. I answer a coat. A heavy outdoor coat of many kinds. For winter. Despite numerous other employees there at ask. He drags me around the store and shows me work blazers, for someone twice my age and size. And I repeat I'm going to Alaska I need a coat for that since he doesn't know what one is. He says I've helped you. He walks off and leaves me to ask for himself, but never thinks to tell me before the ten minute complete waste of my time that he doesn't know and he will ask. I complain to the store manager who says this guy who is the worst store assistant I've ever had is a good employee. She doesn't seem apologetic, she is not correcting or training him, and tells me that not knowing merchandise or the store or to have the common sense or respect for the customer to tell him or her I don't know I will find out, right away, is adequate and the behavior of a good employee. I won't shop here anymore. Their priorities are off, and the place should be 100% self service since the employees are completely unaware of what they sell and are not smart enough to know how to service a customer and to respect another human being. They don't even carry coats. It took an additional 15 minutes for me to report that to the manager. Of me walking every aisle and doing their job. Oh and after this my irritation offended her. Because she didn't like me saying something negative about her employee who wasn't trained, and I feel treated me terribly as a customer. So in addition to self service, if your not satisfied as a customer your concerns don't matter only the employees. I hope savers fires the staff and starts over. It isn't a charity. It's for profit. So therfore why treat...
Read moreI love this place and always find awesome deals. I mean come on, jeans for $2-7 is awesome! Everything I get is gently used or still has the tags on them. I inspect everything I purchase. I like then better than goodwill bc Savers is more organized and clean. Been going to Savers for a while, decided to check out the competition and going into goodwill was definitely a 1x thing. I never used to thrift shop but Savers changed me and now I'm obsessed. It's like a treasure hunt when you shop there. I specifically look for more pricey name brand items most of the time.
The only thing I can say I dislike is how sometimes the items with new tags from their original place of purchase has a lower price than what savers marks them as. Like come on Savers, we see that. And that always makes me put an item back on the shelf or rack. Like heck no. That was a donated item and you're still trying to over price it from the original price? I havent tried this yet but next time I go there I'm going to fight with the staff to get them to lower the price atleast to the original price then take half off that on their sale day. They don't mark it up that much but I've seen mark ups up to $5+ more than the original price.
Overall, I like savers a lot. I'd keep going back regardless of mark up prices with original tags, but I definitely limit my purchases now. I wish they would bring back the 8am early entry for mondays with donations bc that definitely gave them more donations and seems like more business. I dontated every time they did that earlier this year. Now i dont donate bc there is no benefit for me to give them free stuff. I have yard sales so I make money with my stuff rather than give it away for free. Long...
