I have been a faithful shopper with HomeGoods, TJMax, and Marshalls. I am TJX Rewards card member and have shopped these stores for years. I came into this location of Home Goods to exchange an item on Sunday, December 18. I did not have the receipt. I have spent over $300 in this store alone since it's opening of little over a month or 2. I never imagined I would not be treated like a valued customer. During the transaction, the store associate neglected to return my driver's license. I was unaware until I got home. I immediately contacted the location. One of the employees asked would I be able to pick it up, I told her that returning to the store was an inconvenience, so she ensured me it would be sent to me on Monday morning, the very next day. I thanked her. On Wednesday afternoon when my license hadn't arrived I contacted the location to inquire about it. I spoke to Joseph, the manager and he informed me it had been sent out on Monday. I thanked him. On Friday afternoon I contacted the location again (6 times and was placed on hold over 5 minutes each time - which is another example of not being treated like a valued customer) to inform them my driver's license still did not arrive. Joseph apologized, informed me it was nothing he could do, and proceeded to insinuate that it was primarily my fault for not retrieving my driver's license from the store associate. He said it should be a "common practice" of mine not to leave my driver's license with anyone. I thanked him and ended the call. Normally, I would not be concerned, but it is the holidays and I had to leave for vacation with my family without driver's license. This situation prevents me from engaging in any activities that would require me to provide my driver's license. It is unimaginable. I will miss out on all outings, shopping, etc., because the establishments we have reservations for requires identification to enter, as well as use debit and credit cards. This is a major inconvenience and I pretty much have invested time and money in a wasted trip. I live about 15 miles (25 -30 minute drive) from the store, so I am not sure why it would take more than 5 days for mail to arrive, even in spite of holiday season. For Joseph, a manager, to have a lack of concern and make it seem as though it was my fault for "leaving" my driver's license opposed to the employee forgetting to give them back is simply unnecessary. I have been a customer service manager for years and would never treat my customers this way and with such poor customer service. Again, I have been a customer and supporter of this brand for many years and this type of treatment is totally unacceptable. I am sure this is not the type of image that should be displayed to a...
Read moreImagine an antique store, with all kinds of neat things piled high on all the shelves. Now imagine, that instead of antiques, it's all new stuff.
That's HomeGoods.
If you tend to get sensory overload, this is probably not the store for you, as it could be described as "everything, everywhere, all at once." But if you're looking for a store you could snoop around in for a while, or looking for unique home furnishings, this is your shop!
You can climb Mt. Baskets (actually please don't, you'll hurt yourself), play "I spy yet another Stitch decoration," or bring home a "corn-dle". Because who DOESN'T want a candle shaped like a corncob?!?
Ambience: A bit overwhelming, plus some random smells (not bad smells, just...smells).
Neat stuff: Everywhere!!!
Prices: Pretty good. It's owned by the same people who have Marshalls and TJ Maxx, so if you're familiar with those stores, its along the same lines. HomeGoods is just the decor section of Marshalls blown up to cover the...
Read moreHomeGoods sells specialty foods items, kitchen appliances like coffee makers and various coffees and gourmet pantry items and they sell them much less than a department store or specialty grocery store. They have many imported food items that other stores don’t carry like unique, Italian pastas, jams/jellies, tea, and candy. I don’t know why anybody would buy pots and pans at a department store when you can go to HomeGoods and get them at a significant discount. They have s huge selection. I just wish they would resume carrying my whole bean Dallmayr coffee again. You can get it at WorldMarket, but HomeGoods sells it...
