I unfortunately had a very poor experience as a new patient. I was seeing a dark spot in my vision and had done some tests with my optometrist. I wanted to a second opinion from an Ophthalmologist. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful when scheduling and checking in.
However, my appointment with the doctor was terrible. On the first day I met with her, I had already been to my optometrist twice and was nervous because we couldn't figure out what was wrong. After just 2 tests and while waiting to complete additional tests, she told me that my issue could range from needing to be hospitalized to having multiple sclerosis. Obviously, both very serious outcomes and something I don't believe should be voiced until the other tests were completed.
After doing the same tests as my optometrist, she told me I should get an MRI to look for signs of MS even though I displayed none of the symptoms other than seeing a blind spot. Then she asked to pray with me. I'm a religious person but I found her delivery of the possibilities to be highly unprofessional and inappropriate. She ended the conversation by telling me that she was moving out of state the following week and I would need to talk to another doctor.
It has been almost a month since my visit and I have heard from my optometrist twice to check in and absolutely nothing from anyone at Eye Care for Tulsa.
I hate to give a one star because the clerical staff was helpful, but I will not be returning...
Read moreWent to this place for a number of years because I had always gone there. It seemed fine until I asked about the possibility of a rush order on contacts ("rush" meaning a turn around in 1 week... nothing crazy). They weren't interested in even discussing the possibilities with me before seeing the doctor. I obviously didn't want to see the doctor until I was sure I could get the contacts in time since insurance only allows for one visit per year, but they didn't seem to care. When I mentioned I would likely have to go somewhere else if they weren't going to check on contact availability before scheduling an appointment and the woman on the phone said "Okay, have a nice day" and hung up.
Needless to say, that all happened this morning and I've already seen another doctor in town and WOW. Such a HUGE difference. DO NOT GO TO EYE CARE FOR TULSA. They do not care about your well being and are simply going through the motions. The rest of my family and friends have already heard that the grass actually IS greener on the other side and are switching as well. I can't explain how grateful I am that this place treated me badly forcing my hand to find someone new and better. Even the new doctor explained things in greater detail and LISTENED more to me than Dr....
Read moreI had cataract surgery in my right eye and now my vision is worse than before the surgery. My first follow up at my eye doctor who referred me to triad revealed that there was debris left in my eye from the surgery. It cost $365 plus what they charged my insurance company. I have canceled the surgery for my left eye because if it turns out like my right eye I will be nearly blind. I am furious as you can tell. I walked in and they had like five people lined out with a flurry of people going around you doing 18 things at a time. I was barely able to think when they put The paperwork in my lap and stood me up and walked me out of there sent me on my way and I couldn't even think yet. I went and bought an eye shield because the paperwork said I was supposed to have one well after I bought one darned if it wasn't in that stupid little bag they gave me but I couldn't even think when they handed that to me they are just in such a huge hurry to get those copays and those insurance claims going. Treated us like...
