Dutch Bros Coffee — Restaurant in Tumwater

I have a hard time with Dutch Bros. They make great coffee, and are clearly very popular, however I find the small talk insufferable and sometimes do avoid this establishment when I'm not feeling particularly talkative. Often, I get flustered and make up things to tell them in lieu of the actuality of how I plan to spend my day, what I do for work, etc. I don't feel the person preparing my coffee necessarily needs to know this information.

Despite this, I can acknowledge it's part of their business model to "connect" with their customers in an attempt to create a seeming bond to encourage repeated business. I'm sure this works for quite a few, and I do appreciate the positive attitudes and the many things they seem to try to do for the community. However, for an introvert, it would be beneficial for them to understand that many people simply are there for coffee. I know this is mostly my problem, which is why my rating is still 5 stars.

We stopped at this Dutch Bros (Tumwater, Washington) cuz we seen that you could go inside at this one & we had never seen a Dutch Bros before that you could go inside so we wanted to check it out. The inside was nice. There was places to sit down & relax if you wanted to. There was rest rooms for the customers to use. Now the service was not so good. While my 2 girls were in the rest rooms I went up & stood at the counter & no one walked to to the counter to ask if they could help me or anything until my 2 girls had came out of the rest rooms & were standing right next to me & I had been standing there for about 5 minutes. I had thought that if I got our drinks ordered while the girls were in the rest rooms that as soon as the girls came out that we could get going down I-5 south to go home to Harrisburg, Oregon. We ended up having 2 different people taking our one order which was different too. I will say tho that the guy (the second order taker that we had) was really great & patient (I was trying to decide which rebel drink I wanted this time - the same one as normal or to try a new one & he would tell me about different ones trying to help...

Still amazing! The staff here are top notch and genuinely nice people. Great drinks and consistent customer service!! Long review ahead!! My family has been going this Dutch Bros weekly (when possible 😡covid) for nearly 2 years as our family tradition of "Bumpy Drink Friday" I've tried nearly every Blue Rebel mix, my wife loves the Double Torture, kids are pretty much stuck on toasted marshmallow hot chocolate and the white zombie hot chocolate, but they've tried a few others. We have never had a bad experience with the staff inside or outside. We've always had a great time. Yes the drive through design is awful, but it wasn't designed for the kind of volume that goes through there, and that really shouldn't be blamed on the store. Not to mention they do try to get your orders faster by having folks outside even in awful weather. Honestly I should've been writing reviews for every time we have visited and am only writing 1 now because of all the negativity I've read with the 1 stars. Bottom line, we love it and always look forward...
