They never offered me any GATORADE and B. How do you give someone Gatorade who is not able to have ANYTHING to eat or DRINK? By the end of the second day, the tube had completely stopped working we watched it all day, never moving, no suction ever turning on and we told the staff MULTIPLE TIMES THAT IT WAS NOT WORKING. They just kept saying oh, it’s just on low intermittent so it only pumps fluids out once it fills up…so we continued to watch it not doing ANYTHING..finally late that evening they decided to “check” it and the machine was IN FACT not working. They went and got another new machine to hook it up to, but at this point decided not to hook it up because they were finally going to give me some ibuprofen through the tube straight into my stomach. Now, mind you, they also told me NOT to take ibuprofen anymore because of the effects it has on the stomach, but they pumped it directly into my stomach???? All of my reports state that stomach had no firmness, paitent showed no signs of guarding etc. etc. from EVERYONE who came and checked on me…problem here is that my stomach was only actually physically examined maybe twice the entire time I was there. The kicker is the final report, it says that patient abdomen is soft, not distended, no pain, or rigidness and upon examination everything looked good..the problem with this is by this time I was finally allowed to have liquid and the tube was clamped off, but still in me. I was still very weak and functioning at a very low capacity and had spilled my coffee they gave me right before the person from the surgical team came to examine me prior to making this report. She walked in the door and saw me standing there trying to clean up the coffee and talked to me from the door for like 5 seconds and then left. I was NEVER examined or checked. The entire ordeal was very traumatic from the start specially when it could potentially be a matter of life or death and by then you’re too scared to try and leave to go somewhere else for care because you don’t know what will happen if you leave so you have to just stay and hope for the best. I would NEVER go back to this hospital for anything other than a routine visit at the professional building not associated with any kind of inpatient care or anything like that. This was a very terrible experience for a person who was already extremely scared about what was going on all only to get discharged and still have NO ANSWERS as to what is going on and still have the same problem I had the day I was ADMITTED, and I truly don’t feel like myself or my insurance should be responsible to pay for any of this care as there was really NONE GIVEN Picture added to show some of the contents from the tube I was left laying in

We have been to DCH Northport and Regional multiple times over the last 18 months. The hospital had a D evaluation last year and earned every that or an F. This year they got a B rating but that is definitely over rated. Let's be clear here. The vast majority of the doctors, nurses, PCa and customer relations staff are outstanding. Their emergency rooms times are outrageous. First time 16 hours, second 4:37 min to see a doctor who was outstanding. They are plagued with traveling nurses on weekends who may do just the min. The lab staff do not have access to materials cabinet that per them could let them be successful drawing blood. Unless a nurse or lab tech tries three time unsuccessful they can't get someone else and nine times are required for sonic unit team. Structurally the A/C duct are breading grounds for bacteria and dust that causes elergic reactions. They do not have access to bedside pots and use bedpans and bed pads to collect waste. This cause patient to be immersed in waste with their hands and it is then thrown in the trash with general waste. Maintenance left florescent long tubs hanging over bed and computer. Surgery this time and last can not communicate anticipated surgery windows to nursing staff and thus patient. Most of this seems to stem from their matrix organization and anasthesiaology lack of communication. We need a strong emergency hospital. Attracting business for jobs to feed our growing community depend on it. Management needs to fix emergency surgery and structural problems with facility maintenance and floor avability to supplies and decision making.

I have went through a lot the past year DCH cancer center and Immunotherapy treatment and 2 pet scans. The staff and nurses in the pet scan department were awesome and caring. They made me feel relaxed and comfortable every step of the scan start to finish. The Nurses we're informative and professional I was in good hands with each one and each visit. The Immunotherapy Department upon arrival I was scared and anxious. I have been a nurse for 28 yrs and worked in many different hospital departments and worked with great medical staffing, but the Caregivers and Staff are top notch they work tirelessly and answer every questions and comfort everyone the worked on as I sat getting my hour plus receiving my I V meds. Lastly I cannot express how well my Doctor, Grant Williams informed me prior to the treatment what to expect and the procedure of 1 yr of immunotherapy treatments. He was above and beyond and explained each detail answered each question and afterwards I felt at ease the first day we met. He did that each visit once a month for 12 months I am cancer free now. I appreciate the staff at DCH and the Cancer more than I can say. I Give thanks to God the Healer and Dr Grant Williams for his knowledge, love, and to his Bedside Manner he took away my Fears and anxiety for the fear of the unknown. I am truly and forever great full. This is my Story I'm humble and Thanks to each of the staff and Nurses and especially Dr. Williams we made good friends. The picture of ringing the bell after last treatment cancer free. Greg Tucker

I entered the hospital to the emergency room and was treated with the utmost care respect. Once I reach the big hospital things changed. The dayshift did pretty good other than leaving me sit waiting for an MRI for 10 1/2 hours. The first night I was there. I called for my medication three different times and was told I will tell your nurse. And 15 minutes I finally got my pain medication. I was in there for a fractured vertebrae and in a terrible amount of pain An hour and 15 minutes is too much.

The next day I was supposed to be fitted for a brace no one About 5 o’clock in the afternoon, which meant I had to stay over another day.

That night at a little Before 12 o’clock midnight a lot of noise was coming from the hallway around the nurses station. I had asked them repeatedly to close my door and once again it was left open. I got up. Samet and went and slammed the door loud enough to wake everybody up. I was very angry.

At 12:50 AM, someone came into my room to get I told them I wanted my pain meds. The girl pushed the button on the wall and said when someone answers tell Them what you want. After about 10 minutes, she came back and said My call box was not plugged in I needed my meds. That night it was 1hour 28 minutes before Showed up! When the nurse came in, I told her How long I had been waiting and she said “we had an emergency down the hall All of that yelling”

Is it normal if there’s an emergency on the floor that everybody On the floor, except that room gets ignored? It’s not my fault that they Enough to have somebody on call even during an emergency. No one told me there was an emergency and be patient. They just left me laying in there in pain. I felt completely ignored at that point.

I got my pain meds and got almost back to sleep when the head nurse came And woke me up yet again to apologize for the previous Meds. She tried to explain to me about an. All in all from the time I woke up until I got home the next day I did not sleep.

They did not get my dietary order correct. I tried to explain that I am not diabetic, but all Is sugar-free junk that I will not eat.

If I had to recommend DCH for anything it would be just The emergency room.

What happened to me on the Night Shift two nights in a row should never have Any hospital anywhere.

I was treated horribly.

As I stated before, I asked for a patient liaison On Friday and Saturday. No one from DCH has contacted me.

I would like to contact information for the board of directors Is the head of administration at DCH. This is not...

Only reason I’m giving a two is a couple of doctors and a couple of nurses. The PCA’s and other nurses were AMAZING! I went into the hospital because my BP had dropped to 74/38 and my heart rate was 48….all while having continuous seizures back to back in clusters. I don’t normally go for my seizures because they’re non-epileptic (so I thought) and a lot of people in the medical field are clueless to what it really means because the wording that’s used for it “pseudo seizures” which means “mimics.” Instead of them understanding mimic doesn’t mean fake they choose to treat us like we don’t matter.

Back to my visit. There were a couple of doctors on my two different stays within a week timeframe whose bedside manners were terrible. During seizures some doctors/nurses use different methods to attempt to bring you out and in SOME of their eyes if it works you’re faking. The first rude doctor did this (while I’m in ICU) and my boyfriend watched him walk off and throw his hands in the air and say “see she’s responding” which I wasn’t. I’m not sure his ethnicity but he was short with long black hair. Some of the nurses gave me the side eye after this.

The second doctor with bad bed side manners was Dr Slaughter (neurologist ). Mind you my sister or boyfriend never left my side…until they told him he had to leave out for the eeg. No biggie. Well the doctor came in while he was out but he was in my ear. While the Dr was talking to me my boyfriend could tell I was about to have an episode. Also, people with FND/Nonepileptic seizures are aware but can’t communicate. Well I collapsed and began to seize. The doctor is calling my name but I can’t communicate. He SLAPS me in my chest extremely hard. That didn’t bring me through. My boyfriend walked in right after this happened and I came through. My chest was sore for about a week. My family and friends bring me through with a simple chest rub or lift my arm over my head. It doesn’t always work but the force he used was...
