Do NOT take any of your jewelry or watches for repair at Bartons Jewelry. They damaged my brothers beautiful Vintage Movado watch by putting the wrong size battery that was too big damaging the inner workings of the watch. They then had the nerve to say it was because he caused the damage. They tried to upsell him on repairs and also broke the hands off behind the crystal then told him he needed new hands. It wasn’t broken when he took it in. My brother is a meticulous person with many other watches and I know how well he maintains everything he owns. It’s ridiculous that a repair person has little to no contact with a customer keeping their watch for over 2 months, then takes it upon himself to charge $500.00 to fix something THEY broke! Typically you would initiate a repair request with an estimate which they did not do, then kept the watch until he forks over the money. They obviously know nothing about working on fine watches nor do they operate an honest establishment by admitting they screwed up his watch. Do not bring your jewelry or watch here if you expect it to be done properly or if you want it done in a timely manner. They won’t even give him his watch back until he pays the $500.00. What ever happened to good...
Read moreBrought in a beloved heirloom silver ring for resizing, which had been made in the 80’s and worn almost continuously since. It had a complex design carved into it, along with the patina of decades of wear. Barton’s was very thoughtful and polished it into oblivion. When new, it had never been smooth and shiny but it certainly is now. What pattern had remained is almost completely polished away, and the beautiful antique patina is a distant memory. Not sure why a jeweler would think that was a good idea, and I’m heartbroken that my one-of-a-kind treasure now looks like a bright cheap aluminum ring purchased at the dollar store. The resizing cost $40, but I would gladly pay $4000 to have my ring the way it was, before a Barton had...
Read moreMy 98 year Grandfather's watch stopped, needing a new battery. He was just going to do without, because he couldn't find the proper size battery anywhere. I brought the watch to Mr. Barton and he steam cleaned it (it really needed cleaning!), sterilized it, replaced the battery, reset the options, provided a 3 year guarantee, and made my Grandfather incredibly happy! Thanks Barton family for providing such quick and diligent service at such a premium price! While waiting, (it was mere minutes) I checked out the beautiful jewelery and art. I'll...
