The chocolate is a bit pricey but it's higher quality than what you'd normally get at the store. The service is okay, though I once had an uncomfortable interaction with a particular saleslady whose name I never got. She asked if we had any questions, so I asked if she knew what flavors came in the chocolate creams sweet slips or if it was just a random assortment. Instead of answering my question about the sweet slips, she just showed me the same candies in the case, as if I was unaware of what the creams looked like at all. I knew what they were, and I knew they came in different flavors, which is exactly why I was asking about the sweet slips in particular. She didn't really answer my question, so I clarified that I was asking about the flavors in the sweet slips (and if it was a random assortment, that was fine too—I just thought it wouldn't hurt to ask so I had some idea of what I would be getting, whether it was an assortment or particular flavors). She just showed me the candies in the case again and repeated herself, only more impatiently the second time, so I just gave up on that. We decided to buy some orange peels, and she asked how many. I said, "just a handful, about three or four," and she impatiently snapped "I need you to give me a number," as if I didn't just do that. When we checked out, she insisted I take a sample... I think she just felt guilty, but it was an awkward situation because I didn't really want any of the samples that had been out, but she made me feel obligated to take one anyway. Overall, this woman's attitude and behavior made me feel really uncomfortable. I work in customer service myself and I wouldn't even think of acting the way she did. I thought it might have just been me, but my friend who was with me later said they thought she was being unnecessarily rude, and they also felt uncomfortable. I haven't seen her since, so that tells me that maybe I wasn't the only one who had an...
Read moreMy daughter always gets me an order of 4 –way chocolate and vanilla creams for Christmas and my birthday. Nancy, the store manager, consistently puts a gift box together for my daughter labeled that the box is set aside for a young woman buying the chocolates for her mother. It means a lot to my daughter and I that Nancy remembers us each year to have the gift box ready. One year, I asked my daughter to get me a different gift and we found out later that Nancy had prepared the box and was concerned that something had happened to my daughter or I. My daughter has not seen Nancy in over 2 years as Nancy’s been off work when my daughter stops at the store to get the gift box, but the chocolates are still ready for my daughter. Thank you Nancy for treating us so warmly by remembering my special order...
Read moreAnthony-Thomas has been our go to goodie shop for many years. The treats are always amazing and so is the service. BUUUUT I have one legit complaint. Please stop printing the prices on the bags/wrappers of the items. 🙏. I also think it would be cool if you maybe pushed the envelope on some new goodies, flavor combos etc. However, my only real complaint is the price on the package which makes it difficult for Easter...
