Ben's Beach Homes — Local services in Upper Grand Lagoon

This was an email sent to Ben's Beach Homes. They did offer a 100 dollar compensation which we refused. The cleaning fee alone would have been at least 3 times that. I will not rent from this company again and would caution anyone who desires a clean safe environment to use other rental agencies.

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to address the concerns we had Renting Seashore 108 at the Shores Complex, 22519 Front Beach Rd. Unfortunately here are some of our concerns regarding the unit.

The location was excellent. The beach access was also wonderful. However, we have a list of issues that should be addressed ASAP. We have rented several units in Panama City over the last 35 years and have never rented one as unkept and poorly furnished.

The townhouse was not clean. It was dirty. Floors, walls, tubs, and doors all had dirt on them.

The upstairs toilet did not flush with one flush and had to be plunged. The drains all run slowly; we have standing water as we shower.

The cable running up the back stairs and on the deck is a tripping hazard.

The furnishings were terrible. The outside deck had insufficient seating, and the cushions were torn and worn. The couches were not adequate for the price of the unit. Cushions had food under them

A grill was advertised, but there was not a gas tank to use the grill.

The electrical conduit running from the fan in the living room to the outlet fell, and we had to call maintenance. He taped it to the ceiling.

The pots, pans, and utensils were terrible, and not enough of them. The ice maker did not produce much ice.

One of the upstairs beds did not have a top sheet. The comforters on the beds need to be updated or at least cleaned.

There was/is standing water in the garage. We came very close to having one of us fall due to the water in the garage.

The drapes upstairs and downstairs do not cover the entire windows.

We understand that occasional issues may occur, and we appreciate your attention to resolving this matter. We have not posted this review and wanted to allow you to respond to our concerns privately.

Our stay at Ben's Beach Home's townhouse was awesome! The property is very comfortable, well-appointed and perfect for family togetherness. Ben has thought of every comfort and the kitchen has all the amenities. Best of all, the location is AMAZING!!! The view from the upper porch looks out on the best dog beach in America. House was right on the beach and had beautiful panoramic like views from living room and kitchen. We loved sitting in there watching the sunsets! Deck was wonderful also and had plenty of seating if we decided not to be on the beach, we also ate dinner out there at the picnic table during our stay. Bedrooms were nice and clean with plenty of room and bathrooms were nice especially master bathroom. Our 2 year old loved all the open space and the deck as well! Will definitely go...
