Ordered a dryer on May 8th and paid for instillation and to haul away our old one. The first date available for delivery was May 25th. In May 21st, I received a voicemail stating that there was an opening available on May 24th so they were moving my delivery to the 24th and I should call if that date didn’t work for me. Being that I’d been out of a dryer for a little over two weeks I was happy with a closer date. The 24th rolled around and I called because I hadn’t heard what time they planned on coming. I was told my delivery was for the 25th and I explained that I had a voicemail telling me it was moved to the 24th. After some investigating I was told Kathy never changed the date so they would be delivering on the 25th as originally scheduled. My delivery comes on the 25th and it’s damaged! I refused the dryer, as I am not paying for a broken dryer. I called right away and requested a new one. I was told the earliest date was June 8th. (So without a dryer for another two weeks, because they delivered a broken product.) June 8th rolls around and upon delivery, I am told that the paperwork stated it was just a “drop off” not an installation. I showed him my order, and he confirmed that the paperwork was messed up, and he would call to see if someone could come and install it since they didn’t have the kit. They left, and I called Home Depot. After over 40 minutes on the phone I was called by Valparaiso home Depot, only to be told the soonest date they can bring an installation kit is June 25th. Absolutely RIDICULOUS! Another two weeks for someone to come out and install what they SHOULD have already had?! No one at this store wants to make this right? I’ve already been out of a dryer for five weeks, and you have the audacity to make me wait another two weeks to bring a simple installation kit?! I’d give this company ZERO stars if that was the option, and I advise anyone purchasing important appliances to go elsewhere. None of them can do their jobs correctly! In addition, I was told that the delivery service “might not be able to pick up the dryer, and if I don’t want it I’d need to return it myself” you people are...
Read moreValparaiso IN store. Absolutely awful. No one will tell you the truth there. Heather in Flooring doesn’t want to work there and she will let you know it by her attitude. We were told twice, by two separate employees, that flooring was in stock and would be installed within a week, week and a half. It’s now over a month and we were informed it’s going to be another month to get it installed. Quote given added lots of expensive extras that didn’t apply to our home and it was difficult getting them taken off the quote, but I persevered and they removed them. Despite advising them our bathroom vanity would be removed, they quoted it as installing up to the vanity and we had to order another box to cover their mistake. They ordered baseboard to match ours as requested and I double checked this in store with a Flooring associate, but we received the wrong baseboard and were told they don’t carry ours. I found it on their website and ended up purchasing it elsewhere. Paid for delivery for our flooring, but Home Depot wouldn’t bring it into the house. This has been a nightmare. We were going to use Home Depot for our upstairs bath remodel next, but there’s no way now. This has been a horrible experience all around. We convinced the install company to come sooner. They were incredibly nice and polite. They installed quarter round but there are numerous scratches on it and the nail holes weren’t covered, so now that’s another extra job I have to do. We were left with 2 1/2 boxes of flooring left over. The manager, Dawn, did refund us a little bit for our troubles. She told me the amount. When I received the call confirming it had been put on our card, it was slightly less. We’re just more than happy that we’re done dealing with them. But we weren’t! I received a call the day after installation telling me to come pick up the quarter round that I had ordered! No one there knows what...
Read moreI am in a love hate with this place. It's ok if I need a quick gallon of paint or if I need some basic items. I tried to buy three different stoves and they couldn't get them for months despite online staying they had them. So I gave up figuring my old one is still good enough. So since my in laws gave us a large gift card I figured I would also look into what we need and circle back. Well, trying to purchase anything big is complete misery. I looked into flooring but they don't carry it and it would need to be delivered I seriously will not get items delivered anymore. So I checked online to see if they had a fridge in stock I wanted. It said yes. So we went in and still had stock according to online. So we asked for it. Nope they said it's not in stock but I could buy a different color online. Well I didn't want a different color. If I am spending more for color I should get what I want. I will also not order large items from them online. I bought two air conditioners online in the beginning of they warm season since the store had not stocked theirs yet. Fed ex delivered the air conditioners and tossed them right against the garage door and dented it up. Ended up breaking the very well packaged air conditioner and the door. Went through too much to get air replaced and never did get any help from home Depot on the door and fed ex told me they didn't do it. So I got stuck with the dents. Now I have a decent sized gift card which should pay for paint for the next three years because I just ordered the fridge from Amazon. Gonna just give up buying anything decently expensive...
