Never eaten here before but heard it was pretty good. Upon entering the host was just adorable and my daughter certainly appreciated his welcoming demeanor. He was personable and asked our plans for the day. Later I heard him ask the same of other ppl he sat so that's a nice touch of hospitality. Our server was nice and timely on refills. The whole joint was pretty loud which is surprising cuz there was carpeting. Actually it's surprising to see carpeting in restaurants at all these days since it's not very hygienic and difficult to keep clean. This carpeting was dark brown and just dingy looking. It gave me the creeps thinking about what all had to be in there. I noticed hooks at the end of the booths for purses and coats which is a thoughtful design. The place was very clean, as were the menus. I hate getting dirty menus. Overall it could benefit from a lil deco updating as everything just seemed a tad worn. I ordered the Everything breakfast. Man was it phenomenal! Food was very tasty. My daughter got Belgian waffles, bacon and a side of hash browns, which were all delicious as well. Portions were plenty large enough for 2 meals. After our waitress brought the check, I laid my debit card on top of it at the table. I noticed she passed by several times and ignored it. My daughter said she looked right at it and walked away. As I mentioned earlier, it was my first time here. It took me awhile to realize payments are done at a register at the front of the restaurant. It would have been nice for the waitress to just politely inform me of that instead of actively ignoring me and letting me sit there looking like an idiot! Read moreUpdate: We had the most horrible experience ever. Normally when there aren't any customers waiting and tables available, you're seated promptly. This time the hostess said she needed our name in case of a rush, would check on tables open, and it shouldn't take more than five minutes even if they were busy ( this was 7:15 pm on New Year's Eve... Only we were dumb enough to go here!) She then turned to go to the right side of the restaurant "to check" and next we saw her behind the front counter chatting with waitresses like there was no one there. She then proceeded to get a loaf of bread from out front taking it back of the counter, cutting it and when she went to get something behind the counter again, where you pay, she looked out at us through the glass and said, "hello we'll be right with you" to which my husband replied, "you've already taken our name." She continued to go to back to what she was doing and finally asked a waitress serving on the left side if she had tables available. "Yes" was the reply and then the hostess took the waitresses dish rag and disappeared again. Finally, after approximately ten+ minutes of this Bs, she came to seat is. Read moreI recently had an awful experience ordering from Bob Evans in Valparaiso through Uber Eats, and I feel compelled to share my frustration. I placed my order, expecting it to arrive in about 35 minutes, but after only 25 minutes of waiting, I received a message saying my order was canceled due to "limited items." While I understand supply issues, it was incredibly frustrating to be notified just 10 minutes before delivery time—way too late.
I decided to call the restaurant to get some clarity and spoke with Debbie, who informed me that they had a limited menu. I told her I completely understood, but I had ordered four meals and received no credible explanation as to why the cancellation happened. I asked to speak with the manager, and after waiting another 5 minutes on hold, the line just went dead. I called back, hoping to at least get the manager’s name, but all I got was more poor customer service. It’s clear this restaurant has no regard for customer satisfaction or integrity.
It's truly disappointing because Bob Evans is a well-known staple in the community, but after this experience, I wouldn't waste my time or money here. No customer should ever be treated like this. Save yourself the trouble and find somewhere...
