I had a really nice dining set in excellent shape that I consigned with Treasure Trove in February 2018. They picked my set up for a fee, which I was ok with because I didn't have a way to transport it. They weren't able to give me a receipt when they picked it up which I found odd, and told me that I'd have to come to their store to pick it up. I did a few days later and the receipt had my married name on it and I'm now divorced. I don't know how they got that name as I didn't give it to them. Part of the set sold fairly quickly. But in order to find out it sold I had to call them. They wouldn't make the effort to call me. They also told me they didn't pay the owner for the items sold until all the items sold. So I waited 3 months for the rest of it to sell and it didn't so I finally had to call and ask for the money for my furniture they'd sold 3 months prior. I have in the last month called a few times to find out if the other piece sold. Apparently none of the people who work there can get off their chair at the counter to walk to the back of the store to see if its there. They keep telling me I have to talk to the owner. I left a message for her earlier today and then I received a call later from their staff person who is the same one who told me earlier that she couldn't help me. Oh, and the owner who was supposed to call me back didn't call me back and had left for the day. So they asked to take a message again. So I said "The owner was supposed to call me back, I already left a message, so since she didn't call me back I'll call her on Monday". The reply was "Oh ok." and she promptly hung up on me without another word. The only reason I'm giving them 2 stars is because I didn't have to deal with selling it myself on Craigslist. They have some nice things I will admit, but I will NEVER consign with them again and tell others not to bother. I'm disappointed and very unhappy.
6/18/18 Update: Let's set the record straight shall we? The only times I called were to inquire whether my furniture sold. I was told "the owner" would call me back as "the owner" was the only one who could help me. I've left 2 or 3 messages that were never returned. It is not my concern that you are busy. What is my concern is that you have my furniture which you are making money from and don't bother to call me back and inform me as to the status of whether it's sold or not. If I could give you a zero rating I would, for the incredibly poor...
Read moreI hesitate to post this review because I don’t want this secret gem of a shop to get discovered. Against my better instincts to keep this shop an undiscovered secret I must say the selections are quality made, unique, and reasonable. Everything in the shop is on consignment. The owner will happily share that all the proceeds are shared so the people who donate get a piece of the profits. Plus they offer layaway! ........Sadly I am editing my orginal 5 stars after bringing in items on consignment. My items are gone but they have no paperwork showing they sold and told me I have to wait for the owner to return from another missionary trip inorder to get it sorted out after I already spoke with the owner before she left asking to settle my account. She told me then that I would be penalized since it was with in 2 months of bringing the stuff in. I told her I wanted my stuff back that didn't sell and asked to get paid on what did sell. She said then she had to update the paperwork and asked me to come back. I came back and she was out of town for the next month or so and was told my stuff hasn't sold, although I can clearly see they did sell. I feel like it's ring around the rosey. I wonder if other vendors have encountered a similar run around. I was told her son would be in touch to "see what can be worked out" but I didn't get a call. Maybe this review will prompt...
Read moreTreasure Trove has a amazing variety, it's a cross of a antique store, and a modern shop. With items all the way from 1950, mixed with items that are brand new. Very cute clothes that are priced certainly 60% of what they'd sell in retail. Cute jewelry as well. I got my Graduation dinner dress here.
The reviews stating that the store wasn't open when they popped in have to realize the store is open based on customer demand. If you come in during January when people are still recovering from overspending on Christmas, it's not going to be open as late as if everyone's tax returns just hit. The store is almost always open until 4. Just come in then. Small businesses can't pay employees during hours where people are not in the store, that's silly.
Melissa is amazing, if you write a review over a minor inconvenience that stays on the businesses track...
