Theyâre just not very friendly here. I donât appreciate the way they make receipts, because it doesnât tell you the individual prices of the items you buy, so youâre just trusting that they added it up correctly when they donât even greet you or treat you with kindness. I tried coming here a few times now cause their tacos are pretty good, but at this point I give up. Iâm tired of paying these people for unfriendly, unclearly priced service. Last time I came here, I ordered 5 tacos and only received 4, and since the receipt wasnât itemized, I didnât even bother trying to go back and tell them. One time I came here and ordered carnitas tacos, and they asked if I wanted the pork skin included, I said yes, then they gave me tacos with only pork skin in them, no actual carnitas meat. Recently I came in again, and my tacos were correct, but I found some sort of plastic material in them, looked like it may have been a piece of a hair net or some sort of mesh meat packaging. I give up with this place. Iâm forgiving when it comes to small things being messed up occasionally, but the attitude they give you when you as a paying customer mixed with all these separate issues is not worth it for me to deal with. Especially when thereâs so many great Mexican restaurants and markets...
Read moreI just wanted to share my thoughts on this place. I'm grateful for the customer service and the help that I received from this place. This is no Coscot or Fred Myers. Those that are rating this place a one star are full of shhhheeettt. This place is always greeting their customers, and checkout is relatively easy. I'd rather come and shop at Tienda de Carmen, then el Mercado. I have had many bad experiences at el Mercado compared to this place. Those that are reading the reviews, just know these one start reviews are not true. Go and compare the two stores and even those this place is not as big compared to el Mercado, you will notice the differences. I had the experience of going to el Mercado with two non-hispanic or Latino friends. In their own words, "we felt very unwelcome at el Mercado. We asked for help or if someone spoke English to come and help us. No one did come and help." Compared to Tienda de Carmen. We were helped nicely and were acknowledged. Not to mention their pastor was amazing once we took it home to cook. I highly recommend...
Read moreI was very happy to see another mexican store open up here in the Vancouver area, so we tried it out. My husband and I decided to buy some carnitas from them. OMG worst decision ever. Once we got home and proceeded to eat the carnitas, we saw a bug in them. I couldn't tell what kind of bug it was, it had a head, legs and it looked nasty. I was so mad. Started feeling nauseous and disgusted. My husband called to let them know about it and asked to be more careful with handling and cooking food. We left it at that. It happens. Well, guess what, we get a call back from a guy yelling at us asking why the hell we called to complain about their food. UUMMM, excuse me, I paid for that food and expect to at least be properly cooked. I never asked for a refund, we just wanted them to be aware but they are the ones offended??? This was the first and definitely the last time going there! Also, learn some customer...
