used to love this store now there is NO way I'll be back. This store steals from you and does NOT care! I went in to get a few things and after selecting them I went to checkout. I had forgotten my Grocery Outlet bags and hate plastic bags in every way so when the cashier asked "paper or plastic" I went with the environmental choice of paper. After ringing up my purchases I paid for them with an EBT only to be informed that I still owed $.03 for the PAPER BAG!!?!?! I have never been charged before (have been going here for over a decade) and was totally in shock as this is an extremely CHEAP tactic and policy and I do NOT patronize businesses that do this sort of thing. So with that I informed the cashier that he could keep the bag and to negate my bill. I left a note on how I felt about this on FB (nothing nasty, less so than this here), for which I am no longer allowed to comment on their page. They kept my groceries and did NOT negate the bill and I was NOT contacted in ANY way (not even on FB)!!! This is called THEFT or FRAUD!!! ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE owner and manager!!! WinCo has as good or BETTER prices and NEVER charge for a single use bag,...
Read moreMy husband and I always buy our dog food from Grocery Outlets. However, when my husband went to this one he was asked if his dog was a service animal and he responded yes, which he is. He was approach two more times. When he interacted with the last person, the manager I believe, he ended up calling the police on him. The situation was escalated because my husband didn’t understand why his service animal couldn’t go in with him to get the dog food.
We’ve never had this issue in the past. He went on to another grocery outlet and wasn’t treated this way at all. Other grocery outlets are ok after we let them know that he is a service animal. I’m not sure if it’s because my husband is a bigger man, but we do not steal, hurt, or go in with out a mask. We do our part and the situation was handled very poorly.
I reached out to management and was not given an apology, just excuses. They asked us to remove negative reviews, yet they called the police on my husband and put a restriction on him. These kind of actions have a potential of ruining a persons life. All for what? for a small service animal. We do not need a restriction as we will...
Read moreWeird flavors in ice cream--this is the stuff no one buys at a normal store. Read the label before you buy, or you might just end up with a box of pumpkin spice Klondike bars. Meat section is really tiny--every once in a while you might actually be able to find the same organic chicken a second time, but not likely. Always check the dates on frozen items--they could be several months old already. Prices are ok, but they don't take coupons except for the ones they print themselves, so don't count on getting deals better than the posted or clearance price. I used to shop here more, but markdowns, coupons, store coupons at other stores make it not worth going out of the way to shop GO when I save more elsewhere. It also got rather frustrating just trying to find simple items that you'll find at a normal grocery store, like a bottle of lemon juice, gluten free pasta, organic potatoes, and name-brand chips and salsa. They only let employees use the restroom, so don't bring your kids here unless they're really good...
